This was super nice to complete! I love hearing words of affirmation, so a lot of these conversations made me cry. It's nice to hear these things out loud, even though they're pretty obvious. Other conversations, like tasks, money or family were nice to have because you don't often have a chance to talk about these topics. They are so important and this gave us the perfect opportunity to show our expectations. - Elin
This course gave us an excuse to have deep loving conversations. We already talk a lot in our relationship, but these guided conversations allowed us to talk about things we don't usually say outloud. I recommend this course, especially if you like hearing loving words. - Joseph

I enjoyed this course a lot. We have already had a lot of these conversations about tasks, money, children, but it was good to do a check in and make sure we were both on the same page. It reminded us that it is important to continue to check in with each other regarding a lot of these things. I did find the "Issues" chapter very helpful and it will be a really good template for our future conversations about different things that come up. I think the course in general made us refocus on what is important through the wedding planning- each other. I would recommend this course to other couples. I would encourage them to complete this course and spend a lot of thoughtful time in it. We found it very beneficial. - Carolina
I think that this was a great course to open up conversations about things that couples typically do not discuss in everyday life. I really liked how it challenged us and asked some difficult questions while also asking some really fun/exciting things. The topics that were discussed were important and great to be able to debrief. I would recommend this to other couples because of the deep conversations you have with each other. It is also a great way of expressing what you are thinking and what you believe in without being judged. - Keelan

Erica and Isis
Florida / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
What I found most enjoyable about this experience was just being able to really sit down and be honest with each other, like truly honest, and say things we don’t always say out loud. It helped me appreciate you even more—how you push me to be a better person, how you love me fully and not just in parts, and how safe and heard I feel with you. It reminded me that I’m not just marrying you just to get married, I’m marrying my best friend, my partner, and the person I want to build my whole life with.
I was able to understand my partner better, we already had a very honest relationship and talked about many aspects we thought was important before we got into this but hearing how similarly we think and react but also how we understood how the other would react even if we differed was reassuring to me knowing that I really do love and know who I am marrying, and I would marry him one hundred times over. - Erica
When I reflect on us, what stays with me most is how deeply and naturally I fell in love with you. What we built never felt forced to me, it felt real, safe, and genuine from the very beginning. You started as someone I could truly talk to, someone who understood me, someone who made connection feel easy, and somewhere along the way that friendship became one of the deepest loves I have ever known. Loving you has changed me in the best ways because it has made me want to grow, to heal, and to be softer, stronger, and more intentional so I can be the man you deserve.
The way you love me, care for me, listen to me, and stand beside me makes me feel seen, understood, and at home. When I think about our future, I do not just think about marriage, I think about waking up beside the person I love most, building a life filled with peace, passion, honesty, laughter, and devotion, and continuing to choose you with my whole heart every single day. More than anything, I love that with you, love does not just feel beautiful, it feels true, lasting, and like the kind of once in a lifetime bond I will never stop being grateful for. - Isis

Jen and Andrew
Minnesota / Christian (Non-Denominational) Course
It was helpful to me, and I would imagine also to Andrew, to have guided conversations to help us identify topics that we had not spent time on yet. It was encouraging to also identify that we are on the same page in regard to the couple’s check-up. I enjoyed the time spent together with Andrew that was totally focused on us with no technology or other distractions. We are planning to incorporate more technology-free time into our time together in order to be fully present with one another.
To other couples who are considering using this premarital counseling program, I would say do it! It is a lovely, well-paced program that can be done over 12 weeks or in as little as one weekend (although I’m not sure my scattered, wedding-planning brain could’ve handled that!). As someone who struggles to stay focused, a distraction-free environment is best to really get the most out of the experience. Thank you, Reverend Frank, for your online premarital counseling program! Andrew and I are grateful for your ministry and will go into our marriage with open hearts and minds to listen and love one another through whatever comes our way. – Jen
I enjoyed this online premarital counseling course. Because of our schedules, Jen and I were able to do the premarital counseling at times that worked for us. For myself, I enjoyed getting into the details of our relationship. It was stuff we thought about, maybe even talked about, but we were able to converse about the details in a controlled way through the guided conversations. I know another couple that went through the course. That's why I suggested it when it was our turn to look for premarital counseling.
Also, as an ordained pastor in the Evangelical Covenant Church, I wanted to make sure we had an objective 3rd party for our counseling. This option gave us that ability. I will offer it as a suggestion to those who come to me for marriage preparation. I was a little skeptical of it at first, but the depth of the guided conversations, the resources for dealing with issues, the videos, and the inventory, presented a well-rounded experience. I look forward to using the resources in our marriage. - Andrew

Miranda and Max
Minnesota / Christian (Non-Denominational) Course
I really love talking about how our lives shaped us, and love talking about feelings and love learning so much about each other. So, I always looked forward to each section of the course because it gave us a really comfortable space to open up and share and be vulnerable. I thought the section topics were great; I think it covered a wide range of important information that needs to be talked about. We had covered a lot of these topics previously throughout our relationship, but it was nice to take a deeper dive into each one. I think we both went into this knowing we are a strong couple, but this course brought us closer together because we shared things that we hadn't necessarily shared before. I would say it was very helpful, it definitely showed us what we need to work on but overall, it taught us that we can talk about anything and feel comfortable about it.
The convenience of this online course was amazing! It allowed us to set aside the time that worked for us, typically on Saturdays and we would dedicate the time at home to take as much time as we needed to talk. I hope others who are looking at taking this course, do it, because it was worth it. We laughed, we cried (sometimes) and we learned more about each other from the comfort of our home. Having these guided conversations was perfect for us and I think it works well for a lot of people, if you're willing to put in the work. - Miranda
I thought that the questions provided for each topic did a great job of setting up meaningful conversations. We have touched on many of the topics covered in these sections before, but having a larger list of questions helped us both get down to the details on each topic - and helped us learn more about our pasts, expectations of the future, and expectations of each other for each topic. I really enjoyed that we both answered a few questions briefly and when we discussed them, we both looked at each other and said, "yeah we've already talked in depth on this one and we know where we both stand... moving on!"
For other questions - we sometimes spent 20-30 minutes sharing stories and listening to each other's past experiences to fully understand each other. I would say this experience helped us round out our understanding of each of the provided sections and gave us some ideas on how to manage these topics moving forward. – Max

I found the conversations surprisingly deep and thorough which was really helpful. I especially appreciated the money and parent sections as these can be hard conversations. The romance section would have been more specific. Overall a great tool. I would tell other couples to take more time with it to get the most out of it. - Zoee
The conversations were really insightful and meaningful and helped emphasize topics we hadn’t dived into as deeply before. The children section was really important to me and highlighted how aligned we are on our thinking about kids. Overall I really enjoyed the conversations and exercises. I would tell other couples to take their time and really dig deep. - Verdo

I thought this pre marriage course was great and very helpful. First, I enjoyed that the course was online and could be done at our own pace. We both work full time jobs and being able to plan out when we can have these deep conversations was really helpful. Secondly I enjoyed the conversations that these courses provoked. It was amazing to have such deep and meaningful conversations before we get married. I would and will recommend this course to any of my friends that are getting married. - Zoya
I really enjoyed the course. I also enjoyed the flexibility that the online course allowed for while taking our time to have these conversations in the comfort of our own home. - Brendan

Kami and Brody
Minnesota / Christian (Non-Denominational) Course
Overall, I thought this premarital course was very beneficial. This course was recommended to us by a trusted couple that we know, and I would recommend it to other couples. Though Brody and I have already had most of the conversations already, I thought it was nice to be able to sit down and talk through them again, and some of the conversations were on a deeper level, which was very nice. It was very helpful and convenient that we could complete this course on our own time. I think that by being able to just have conversations between the two of us and no one else around was also very beneficial and allowed us to be more vulnerable with each other. Brody and I have talked highly of this premarital counseling, and we will continue to encourage and recommend this course to our friends, family, and loved ones who are engaged or will be getting engaged. I thought that the extra courses and the follow ups that were included were very nice and will be a great tool to use in the future and to look back on. - Kami
I thought the premarital counseling was really beneficial. I liked that we got to talk about things again on a deeper level. We had talked about most of the topics before doing the counseling so I was glad that we both asked lots of questions and were definitely on track of intentionally dating for marriage and finding our person that is running the same race as each other. It was very convenient to be able to do this on our own time with our busy and always changing schedules. I would definitely recommend this to other couples, especially if they want a more in depth and convenient way of doing Premarital counseling. - Brody

Thank you for the wonderful course! I really enjoyed completing it! It has always been important for me to complete pre-marriage counseling. However, my fiancé is not comfortable with talking about emotions with many people, so he was a little hesitant on completing counseling. Because of this, we found your course to be a perfect fit for us. I enjoyed that it was self-paced and something we could do on our own time. I feel like the way the questions were worded really made both Davis and I really think about many things that we have not thought about before. I would recommend this course to anyone, whether they are just getting married or want to strengthen their relationship because it is so flexible to each couple! - Abby
I thought the course really helped with communication. I’m not good with always communicating anything from feelings to talking. But I feel like this has helped me get better about it with my spouse. - Davis

This was a great journey for both of us. The first activity brought us both to tears. The Issues activity was amazing to help facilitate conversations about our struggles that were really healing and helpful. When we started the series, we thought it was just a means to an end to get our license without the waiting period, but in actuality it was something that opened up our hearts and created great conversations between me and my future husband. I am grateful we went through it and I would recommend it to anyone! - Molly
I think the course was beneficial and opened up important discussions. The course also allowed us to grow in certain areas that we have previously struggled with. - Patrick

McKenna and Shane
Minnesota / Christian (Non-Denominational) Course
I found this course to be very helpful for us. We had talked about the subjects of these conversations superficially in our relationship but not to the level of depth this course gave us. It was a great opportunity to learn more about each other, our families, and our goals and plans for the future. It was also an enjoyable experience to have scheduled, no distraction, time together and get real and deep. I would recommend this course to all couples - even if it seems daunting and uncomfortable, it is so worth it. - McKenna
I think that this was a helpful course as a whole. We had many good conversations and I feel we can take away many good points from this. This has brought up things we have talked about before but also more things that we haven't talked about before doing this. I would recommend this to some of my friends who are soon to be married. Very easy going and with the one you love, our relationship has been deepened and strengthened to awesome levels. - Shane

Kim and Tony
Minnesota / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
I want to thank you for providing such a comprehensive online course. Through each worksheet and conversation I was able to have with Tony, I felt like we were able to become closer, and more emotionally intimate as a couple. We have already discussed many of the topics addressed in this course but it was a more comprehensive and in-depth approach than our previous discussions had been. The worksheets made me think in a slightly different way about these topics. The side conversations that stemmed from the main topics were also really important and enlightening. It was fun to see how frequently we had nearly the same answers almost verbatim! A great confirmation that we are on the same page. I would recommend this course to anyone who is getting married; it’s absolutely a value add. - Kim
I think this is genuinely a course that could not only help people going to be married, but who are already married, or have been for a while. Communication is at the center of any strong relationship, and while Kim and I have always been open and forthright with each other there were prompts in the activities we have not previously discussed or maybe avoided to prevent uncomfortable conversations. The healthy and open space these directed conversations create is refreshing for relieving concerns and building confidence that we have a strong foundation for years to come in our relationship. For new couples I would say this is a time investment. Plan at least 1 hour per conversation (if not more) and really do the prep work so you can come into each activity as best prepared as you can be. - Tony

Bryana and Graham
Minnesota / Christian (Non-Denominational) Course
We thoroughly enjoyed going through this marriage preparation course. We both tend to have hard times initiating deep or uncomfortable conversations, so this really allowed us to have topics to discuss on a deeper level. I would definitely recommend all couples to do a course like this to get to know your partner on a deeper level and unlock conversations that you might not have thought about otherwise. It was fun to get to hear each other's answers, too! Thank you for guiding us along this journey, Reverend Frank! - Bryana
I thought this course was helpful in allowing us to reach deeper conversations on hard topics that we wouldn't normally discuss. We made a routine of meeting every Tuesday night to focus on each other and the course. It turned into the best couple hours of the week. I would recommend this course to other soon-to-be married couples. - Graham

Rachel and Jacob
Minnesota / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
This pre marriage course was a great experience for me! Even though Jacob and I have been together for 7 years, there were still a few items/topics we have not discussed before. I feel very confident that our marriage will succeed, and this course gave me tools to use when future conflicts arise. I will definitely be recommending this course to my single friends, and maybe to my married friends too! It was WELL worth the time we put in. - Rachel
I appreciated how this course got us talking about things that we hadn't talked about yet as a couple. We were able to celebrate the things that we felt similarly on and conversed deeply on topics we haven't yet covered. I would recommend this to other couples, as it allows you to work at your own pace and spend as much time as necessary thinking about the questions you're answering. Five stars! - Jacob

Tamara and Miguel
Texas / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
The marriage course was a very valuable experience for both me and my partner. It helped us understand each other better, improve our communication, and express more clearly what each of us feels and expects in the relationship. I especially liked that we were able to talk about important topics regarding our future together, such as our goals, values, and expectations for marriage. Through this space, we also learned how to recognize our differences and handle them with more respect and empathy. It was a great opportunity to get to know each other on a deeper level and prepare more consciously for life as a couple. I definitely recommend it to other couples who are thinking about getting married, because it provides very helpful tools to build a strong and healthy relationship. - Tamara
In my opinion, this course was very helpful - at least considering the strained position our relationship has been in recently because of a lot of change very quickly for both of us. Not to mention several external factors putting more strain on us as well. I felt this course was a good and healthy way for us to be able to go more in-depth with these conversations that we’ve attempted to have recently. At times some moments felt heated but nothing we couldn’t control and at the end of each talk we felt at least closer together. I would tell couples that this is definitely a program that they should be looking into. Personally, I think that courses like this should be mandatory for people who are planning on getting married soon. I feel like it’s too easy to get swept up in the emotions and the excitement of going into marriage and we often neglect to have the tough conversations that need to be had to have a long and healthy relationship. - Miguel

Marena and Nick
Minnesota / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
This course has really helped us prepare and continue to get excited for our marriage. It helped open our eyes to different things that we have and will encounter during our life together and allowed us to have meaningful guided conversations about how to navigate our relationship and continue to build a beautiful life upon the solid foundation we have built. This course has an anniversary “conversation date” that we get to complete each year of our marriage. This course is truly the gift that keeps on giving. It was so fun to dive deeper into our relationship through this course. Thank you, Reverend Frank! - Marena
I felt that this course opened dialogue we hadn’t thought of having previously. Not only were we having discussions for the assignments, but we found ourselves exploring our needs deeper outside of the class as well. I felt that the class not only had us expressing our adoration towards one another, but it also forced us to have uncomfortable conversations within it. Inevitably this led to the ability to have those conversations outside of the class as well. I think the biggest take away will be the rules for conflict PDF at the end of the class. I felt that it had great reminders that should always be kept in the back of your mind when navigating a healthy, adult relationship. - Nick

I absolutely loved the idea of doing this course and enjoyed the experience to the fullest. I did not know what to expect when we decided to take the course, however, it exceeded any idea I could've had. Ernesto and I were able to dive deep into these conversations, we loved reflecting on when we first started dating and how we felt then vs. how we feel now. We reflected on the growth we've experienced throughout the years in our personal lives and in our relationship as a whole.
When talking about our parents we both realized how much differently we want to do things with our children, and it really helped us create conscience on how we act and treat our kids. I can speak so much more on how necessary and helpful this course can be to a couple, whether it's before or after they get married. I feel like a lot of people just wing it and don't realize how impactful these conversations can be. We get so caught up in our day to day that sometimes we need a little help connecting with our partner and this course did exactly that! I appreciate the dedication that went into creating this course and I highly recommend all couples about to be married, or even after marriage, commit to completing it! - Maricarmen
When my fiance told me we had to complete a pre-marital course I did not think much of it. However, I have to admit that the conversations were pretty intense. I'm a truck driver so she was doing most of the reading and with each question we each gave our point of view. She and I speak multiple times per day, every single day and I can say we both enjoyed being on facetime for nearly 5 or 6 hours to complete this course. We even talked about going back in a couple weeks and looking over a couple questions that were somewhat difficult to respond to. This was a very insightful course and I highly recommend it to any couple wanting to get married. - Ernesto

Brittany and Fredrick

I am very thankful for the course and all it has taught me, as an individual and as a partner. I was able to talk about things I felt needed a conversation. We were able to connect deeper and I was able to show my partner where I felt he needed improvement as well as where I needed improvement. I learned some new skills to cope when there is an issue. The course taught me more about my faith and showed me where Freddie stood with his faith and beliefs. I'm grateful for the opportunity I had in taking this course, and I am very excited to be getting married. - Brittany
A few good things that I got from this course are that I got to learn more about her faith and beliefs. I got to learn that I have to take a step back sometimes and think before I speak or act and take other’s thoughts and feelings into more consideration. It was good to be able to sit down and talks thing through calmly. It’s helped me build a lot as a person and I feel like it will help build our marriage and give it a good stable start. - Fredrick

Marissa Bernard
Florida / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
I really appreciated completing this course because, although we know that we love each other, it was nice to hear it out loud and specifically. We plan on having just a generic ceremony at the courthouse where we wouldn't be able to discuss these things. We already share a house and children so it's easy to get swept up into the day to day life. It was nice to be able to slow down and focus on just us two. It was a good feeling to be able to tell the person you love why you think they are so wonderful. - Marisa
Taking a marriage counseling class turned out to be a good move, even though I wasn’t exactly excited about it at first. I went in thinking it might not be for us, but it actually helped more than I expected. It gave us a space to talk things through with someone neutral, and that alone made a difference. I learned a few things about communication and how I respond in certain situations that I hadn’t really thought about before. It wasn’t some big, dramatic breakthrough, but it gave us some useful tools and reminded me of the importance of working on the relationship—not just coasting through it. - Bernard

Rev. Frank, I am so glad we found this course because it showed us many amazing and beautiful things that we take as life lessons, and we also feel ready for this new chapter in our lives. From communication skills and conflict resolution to understanding the sacrament of marriage, the content was thorough and deeply rooted in Catholic teachings.
The combination of couple activities and reflective exercises made it both engaging and enriching. We as a couple learned more about each other and made different practices into our life and feel closer to God and as a new family. It has been a valuable experience, and I would highly recommend it to others who are preparing for marriage. Thank you. - Sabrina
Rev. Frank, again, thank you for allowing us to take this course with you. We truly enjoyed every single bit of it and would recommend it to any couple looking for this type of marriage prep course. We really enjoyed every conversation and how different the topics were, which were only preparing us and strengthening our relationship towards our marriage.
I was surprised at certain topics I found beyond helpful in terms of preparing us for our marriage. Every conversation was helpful and allowed us to sit back and talk about topics we never imagined were going to leave us with such positive feelings and hope for what's just around the corner. We will take these conversations with us throughout our entire marriage and reference back to them when needed. Thank you. - Jacobo

The course was well structured and easy to follow, which I really appreciated. I liked taking the time to go through each question with my partner and really think about the answers. Some of the questions were topics we hadn't talked about before or hadn't gone into great detail, so it was helpful to have a structured way to do this.
I also really enjoyed hearing my partner's answers, especially the ones about his parents, and his relationship with my parents. After taking this course, I feel closer to Pete and feel better prepared to start our marriage. Overall, I would recommend for couples to take this course, because it puts all the important topics right before you, and requires you and your partner to consider them carefully and thoroughly. - Elise
We thank you for hosting a great, intuitive, & easy to follow course! This online marriage prep course was great for Elise and I. First of all, the flexibility to complete the course on our own time/speed was great. We both have busy work/travel schedules, so completing chapters on our own time frame was a major plus. The content and focus of each section/topic was relevant & thought provoking.
It was helpful mixing in important topics other than faith, like money/finance & our parents. Overall, I would highly recommend this online course to others who are preparing for marriage. Elise and I had discussed each of the topics throughout our time together, but not as in depth as this course. It was a pleasure taking this course! - Peter

Lauren and Wally
Texas / Christian (Non-Denominational) Course
This course was crafted perfectly to allow us to talk through all of the important things we need to before tying the knot. As two people with very busy schedules, it can be hard for us to attend things in person or at the same time, so the format of this allowed us to dedicate the time when we could. I truly enjoyed setting aside that time to have at-home dates and work through our marriage preparation. I highly recommend this for any couple looking for a valuable course to ignite insightful conversations and leave no stone unturned before committing to a lifetime together. - Lauren
I loved that we could do this at our own pace while setting aside intentional, romantic time for each other. The step-by-step process was also easy to follow and kept us focused on what we really needed to be focused on while allowing space for us to go on related and important tangents regarding our relationship. The prompts were also just general enough for us to cater it to the specific topics that pertain to our special relationship. I would definitely recommend this to other couples who want flexible counseling, still grounded in the values of Scripture. - Wally

Tiana and Jonathan
Texas / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
This online marriage preparation course was an incredible experience for my partner and me, especially given our unique situation with an overseas deployment and being in different time zones.
One of the best aspects of the course was the ability to complete the lessons and guided conversations at any time of day. Being in different time zones, we couldn’t have kept to a consistent date and time for a traditional class or session. However, the course allowed us to work through the materials when it was most convenient for both of us, making it easy to stay engaged. The guided conversations were particularly valuable. They helped us focus on the core beliefs and topics that are essential for a strong marriage. It was a great way to ensure we were aligned on important matters like communication styles, financial goals, and future expectations.
These discussions helped us build a deeper understanding of each other and highlighted areas where we needed to be in agreement before stepping into marriage. I’d recommend this course to any couple, especially those dealing with the challenges of long-distance relationships or unpredictable schedules. It provides professional insight in a flexible format, making it easy to maintain meaningful conversations about your future together, even when life gets busy or complicated. The tools and guidance we received will definitely set us up for success as we continue our journey toward marriage. - Tiana
I enjoyed the flexibility of the course and being able to space out the conversations over several months worked perfectly with our schedules, especially as I was deployed overseas. It turned what could have been a stressful experience into an enjoyable one. Each module gave us the chance to focus on one topic at a time, making it easier to absorb and apply what we learned without feeling overwhelmed. This course also became an opportunity for us to have regular "date nights," even from a distance. We would plan virtual sessions where we’d discuss the materials and engage in meaningful conversations, all while staying connected despite the physical distance.
It was a great way to keep our bond strong during the deployment and ensure we were on the same page as we prepared for marriage. If you're in a long-distance situation or simply need some flexibility, this course is a great fit. - Jonathan

I found the conflict resolution and also the discussions about various topics like money, doing our part, and children very helpful as these weren’t things we previously discussed. I think it helped my fiancé learn more about my Catholic faith and upbringing. It helped me have a better understanding of the sacraments, especially of marriage. Writing the prayers was nice as well. I would say to other couples this is a great course to prepare you for major things that will come up in marriage. - Saoirse
This was incredibly helpful! Right from the beginning, I could feel the positive impact on our relationship, and I believe it will only continue to improve. Although I’m not Catholic, this has helped me learn so much about how similar our religions are. - Amen

Dear Rev. Dr. Frank Nelson, we hope this message finds you well. We recently completed your online Christian non-denominational marriage preparation course and wanted to take a moment to express our gratitude for the incredible impact it has had on our relationship.
What we enjoyed most about the course was how it encouraged us to build our relationship on biblical principles while addressing real-life situations and challenges. We enjoyed the meaningful conversations throughout each lesson.
One of the most helpful aspects for us was learning to better communicate our needs and expectations as we begin thinking about our future together. It’s already made a noticeable difference in how we approach and navigate our relationship together.
To any other engaged couples considering your course, we can’t recommend it enough. The lessons are not only practical and insightful but also grounded in faith and love, making it a truly valuable experience as couples prepare for marriage. We feel truly blessed to have had the opportunity to learn from you. - Cori and Jesse

Olivia and Dan
Illinois / Catholic Marriage Prep
Dear Rev. Dr. Frank Nelson, thank you so much for guiding my fiancé, Dan, and I through Pre-Cana online. When reflecting back on our experience, we both found the course to be very convenient. We were able to have the conversations on dates that worked best with our busy schedules. This allowed for us to really bond by spending quality time together and preparing for marriage. Conversations did not feel rushed. I also enjoyed how the course prompted us to plan and follow through with important conversations. Planning a wedding is very time-consuming, and we often forget to take time to talk about our future marriage.
I found the "Issues" and "Rules for Resolving Conflicts" conversations especially helpful, because they challenged us to productively come up with solutions to our issues/conflicts together. We also felt that the structure of the course helped guide us in our conversations, making them easier to have.
Beginning and ending the conversations with readings and prayers also helped us come back to God and strengthen our love for him while also doing so for each other. Something I would say to other couples is that this course will truly help you prepare for marriage and strengthen your current relationship. - Olivia
I enjoyed the conversations that Olivia and I had. It proved to me that we are ready for marriage and have a healthy relationship. I found the conversation prompts helpful. They helped us get started on meaningful and important topics that we do not discuss as often as we should. I recommend this course to other couples because it allows for flexibility. Olivia and I both work full-time, so we are busy but did not feel overwhelmed. - Dan

The most enjoyable part was the opportunity to engage in deep, meaningful conversations with my partner. The activities and discussions were structured in a way that encouraged us to reflect on our relationship, our values, and our future together. The sessions on finances, parenting, and spiritual connection were particularly beneficial, as they helped us understand each other’s views and set realistic expectations. It was very convenient to go through this course online and so simple to follow.
I recommend this course to other couples. It’s a great way to dive deeper into your relationship and prepare for the journey ahead. While it can feel a bit formal or structured at times, the insights and tools you gain are well worth it. – Shelby
I particularly appreciated the sections on communication and conflict resolution, which were both insightful and practical. The program also offered a nice balance of serious topics and lighter moments, which kept things engaging. Online Pre-Cana was incredibly helpful in terms of providing us with tools to navigate the challenges of married life. I definitely thought it was convenient and easy to follow. I would highly recommend this course to any couple to help them to have open discussions. - Adam

We are so happy to have completed the Online Marriage Preparation course! What an incredible opportunity of growth you provided for us. We were on the fence about online premarital counseling but after completing the Online Marriage Preparation course, I cannot recommend this course enough to my friends who are getting married! Rev. Dr. Frank Nelson provides in-depth guided conversations that initiated detailed conversations between my fiance, and I that we may not have otherwise had.
We feel like we not only are more connected as a couple, but also more connected with Christ. The prayers and verses provided allowed us to dig deeper into the Bible and encouraged continual Biblical growth on an individual level as well as together, as a couple. I give 10 out of 10 to recommend this course to any couple! - Andrea
I thought that this course was very insightful and connected us by allowing for self-expression within conversations that we had. I love the interactive assignments as well as the videos that helped us stay on track. I would highly recommend this preparation course to other couples. -Trever

I loved this course; it gets you to converse about topics you might of never touched on or are a little hard to bring up. I love how we were both able to read our answers to each other. It makes me feel like now I know what he thinks about me (in a good way). The course was insightful, interesting, and very educational. I just wanted to share how much we appreciated your online marriage preparation course. It was truly insightful and gave us a well-rounded view of what to expect in marriage. It was incredibly helpful in giving us practical tools and insights for our relationship. I especially loved the focus on how to balance work, leisure, and family life, which helped us think about how we can build a marriage that’s not just about big moments, but about everyday choices. I think this course is invaluable for couples, it gives you the chance to explore your relationship in depth and assures you that you’re both on the same page. I feel much more confident and excited about our future together. - Veronica
I really enjoyed the way this course covered every aspect of marriage, from faith to finances, and how it prompted us to have important conversations we might not have had otherwise. The discussion on parents was particularly eye-opening. Although it was the hardest topic for us, it helped us understand how we can support each other in navigating family dynamics. I also appreciated the section on conflict resolution, where we had fun reflecting on how we bicker over small things like lotion! It reassured me of our ability to communicate well and handle challenges together. I would highly recommend this course to any couple preparing for marriage, it’s a great way to build a strong foundation. - Ryan

Harolicia and Orlando
Florida / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
This has been a very pleasant experience thus far. It makes you dig deep and think about more important things that could impact me, my life and my family. I enjoyed the quality time with my future husband most of all; we've addressed some of these topics before, but this exercise allowed us to dive a bit deeper and understand further. Overall, this is helpful because it creates a safe space for sensitive topics. To other couples, I would say commit the time to the course, it’s a win-win, and it definitely shows your partner the effort put forth. - Harolicia
My overall experience went well. I appreciate the time that my partner and I spent together. There were a lot of important topics. We had time to really think about childhood, family experiences, traumas, and goals in life. The exercise helped us understand more, especially about each other. If I can say anything to other couples, it is to enjoy the process. I had my doubts initially, but I am seeing it through. It is worth it. It will only compliment my efforts to be a better man. - Orlando

Franny and Dimitri
Florida / Christian (Non-Denominational) Course
First and foremost, thank you for such an informal course! My partner and I chose your course out of the others due to it being online and having the Christian option. A long story short about my relationship with my partner, we live in different countries, yes countries not counties. We met 2 years ago through a dating app and have spoken every day since. He has visited me in America 3 times since and I have been in England 3 times as well. We have since planned to have me move over and work on my immigration after 2 years and we kept our word on that.
Since our first interaction we asked all the hard stuff, from how do you react in an argument to what is your relationship like with your parents to what our strengths and weaknesses are in a relationship. Honestly going over some of the assignments reminded us of how strong we are in our relationship and of how much we have already gone over in our daily lives. This course is how we typically communicate since day one of knowing each other and we wish to continue that and use these guides to remind us of what’s important.
I truly enjoyed incorporating the importance of families and what roles they play in our lives as we prepare for marriage in the "parent’s section." We have completed a bit over 4 hours with a few more lessons to go this week. We look forward to these guided lessons and look forward to being married soon. - Franny
I found the introduction video prior to the “Before We Say ‘I Do’” conversation quite reflective. My partner and I briefly paused the video after the C.H.E.K. to attempt its application in our own relationships. This quickly became a 15-minute exercise exploring what exactly each term meant generally and in the context of our relationship to God. In honesty we both liked the model very much and would have liked a deeper explanation.
The communication Bucket exercise was fun as well as helpful going into "Before We Say...", with our answers varying greatly we were reminded about how we both appreciate various parts of our relationship and each other equally, yet differently. The Conversation concerning "Our Parents" was a very lengthy and emotional one, allowing us to identify many unspoken truths for ourselves more than for each other. I sent "what I would say to my parent" to my mother with a positive outcome. I look forward to working through the other conversations, exploring the depths and breadth of our upcoming marriage. - Dimitri

Barbara and Corey
Illinois / Roman Catholic Course
I thoroughly enjoyed this course. It opened up space for conversations on several topics we may not have discussed prior. It was especially touching to hear some of Corey’s responses, and made me even more excited to get married. I would highly recommend this course to others who are interested in furthering their conversations with their future spouses and gaining insight on their thoughts about various topics. – Barbara
This course was an interesting guide to preparing for marriage. While there is much of it that does not apply to couples who have been living together for some time, there was quite a bit that was insightful. The Issues course was my favorite, and I think it was what I got the most out of. Answering these questions just proved how ready I am to marry Barbara, and I can’t be more excited! – Corey

Thank you, Rev. Frank, for the course to help us get ready for marriage. Even though I already did marriage preparation in Vietnam, doing this course with Davis was a good experience. It felt like we were learning and talking together. We got to talk about important things, and I learned more about how we can grow as a couple. The conversations made me feel closer to Davis, and it helped us understand each other better. This course was very helpful for us as we prepare for our future together. - Huong
Dear Rev Frank, thank you for giving my fiancée and me the opportunity to take this Pre-Cana coursework. The flexibility of the course made it possible for us to complete it, especially given our unique situation with different time zones, language, and culture.
Despite this, it brought us even closer together. It helped us address topics we used to tiptoe around. Communication techniques, conflict resolution, financial planning, and family dynamics really helped strengthen our bond and prepare us for a life together.
Personally, it helped me lower my defenses and become more vulnerable. I really appreciated how the topics acted as conversation starters, allowing us to share more openly. During this time, we encountered conflicts that we were able to resolve using the techniques we learned. I learned a lot about myself and am excited for us to continue growing together.
This course has strengthened my Catholic faith by deepening my understanding of the sacrament of marriage. It is a commitment between two people but also with God. Overall, this course was both helpful and beneficial. - Davis

Dear Rev. Frank, I really enjoyed going through this course. I liked how thorough each course topic was. It really made me think about important aspects of my life and our life together. It also made for good conversation with my soon to be spouse. A lot of things brought up during this course will be relevant at many times throughout our life together so I hope to keep the discussions of these topics in my mind, and I would love to go back at times and re-read our responses or discuss things again.

I feel like we get caught up in our day-to-day routines most of the time and we overlook some of these key topics or maybe don’t know how to address them. Celeste and Logan
Pennsylvania / Catholic Marriage Prep
I really enjoyed this marriage prep program because I felt it helped me get closer to my fiance leading up to our wedding. I was able to become more vulnerable with him and talk about topics we haven’t touched on previously. I enjoyed hearing what he had to say about things like his family, faith, life, and desires for our future together. This was a great way to compare answers and ensure we are both on the same page about important topics in our lives so that we can confidently move forward together and look forward to a long and happy marriage.
I would recommend this course to my friends and family getting married because it was an affordable and convenient way to grow closer as a couple and initiate conversations about God. It was great to be able to work at our own pace and go over worksheets together when we had time to see each other. We look forward to our wedding day confidently, even more so now than ever. - Celeste
I truly loved this Marriage Prep course because we both know how much we love each other but it's so nice to read what the other person said and solidify that from what she said. I loved seeing how similar our answers were and every time I would read one of her worksheets I couldn’t help but smile.
Celeste truly means the world to me and doing these worksheets shows me just how close we are to getting married. I can’t wait to start a family with her and have someone right by my side that shares the same faith and morals that I do. I’m the luckiest guy in the world that God decided to give me someone so good for me. I have never met anyone in my life that makes me as happy as Celeste does and it makes me cry just thinking I get to have that happiness forever. - Logan

Anna and Andrew
Massachusetts / Catholic Marriage Prep
This Pre-Cana course was very useful in our marriage preparation. We enjoyed the guided discussions and often found ourselves spending more time than planned in conversation. Many of the topics were either aspects that we had discussed early on in our relationship, and which were helpful to revisit, or conversations that hadn’t come up before. The fact that the course was self-paced was also extremely convenient with our busy schedules. The course is well put together, and we would definitely recommend it to other couples. - Anna
Thank you for putting together this course. My fiancé and I have been together for a long time so were skeptical that these conversations would reveal topics we were yet to discuss. And while many of the conversations did indeed discuss things we already knew about each other, the way they were framed allowed us to approach these topics in a fresh way that was quite enjoyable. I particularly enjoyed that each conversation was a combination of introspection and verbalizing the aspects of our relationship that make us happy together. The structure of the course was straightforward and easy to step through as well, and I believe it has been a valuable component of our wedding preparations. - Andrew

Carmen and Andres
Florida / Catholic Marriage Prep
I really enjoyed having the opportunity to discuss each topic with my fiancé after working on them individually. I also enjoyed the video courses as they were easy to digest and understand. I think the pre-filled PDFs were helpful and easy to follow. The questions or statements made it easy to follow along and fill in the blank with my answers.
I changed after this course because I take more seriously having open conversations about certain topics and about all topics that should be discussed in a marriage. I understand the importance of being open and honest. At the same time, I feel like this course prepared me for marriage because the conversations and discussions were deep and gave a good glimpse about all the things that may come up during our marriage. I would definitely recommend this course to my friends. It’s easy to complete online, it’s easy to follow, and we can really learn as well. Thank you. – Carmen
I enjoyed getting to sit down with my fiancé and discuss each topic as well as learning from Father Frank. Filling out each conversation individually first was helpful before sitting down with my fiancé for our conversation. I am more willing to be open with my fiancé and future wife about tough conversations and being more communicative about them.
I think this course really touched on all the areas that make up a marriage. I was able to re-discover my beliefs, weaknesses, strengths and love for my fiance. I would recommend this course to friends because it was not a hassle to complete, it was fun to do it alongside my fiance, and it did not take too long to complete. Thank you. – Andres

Peggy and Russell
Florida / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
Dear Rev. Frank, I really enjoyed the marriage preparation course. While my fiance and I were previously married to each other, we lacked the ability to effectively communicate with each other. We had a great foundation for marriage but would avoid issues instead of talking about them.
Your course has helped us explore more ways to have conversations and open the lines of communication. I would highly recommend other couples to take the course. People often feel they communicate well but find that they do not effectively communicate the way they should. I appreciate you taking the time to help others prepare for marriage. This was absolutely wonderful. - Peggy
Dear Rev. Frank, the course was very enjoyable and enlightening. I learned a lot regarding conflict resolution and having deeper conversations with my future spouse. Overall, it was a great experience and I thank you for putting this together. - Russell

As a busy couple with different schedules sometimes it is difficult to find time to delve into emotional conversations. This course gave us the opportunity to make communication a priority and enabled us to open up to each other with authenticity. I look forward to utilizing the Anniversary and Conversation files throughout our marriage, along with reflecting on our journey through this excellent course. - Kayla
I enjoyed taking this course with my wife and talking about various aspects of our marriage. As we progressed, I became more aware of how important it is for us to have open and honest communication on a more frequent basis. A lot of essential topics were covered that couples don't always think are necessary to talk about. I liked viewing and discussing the videos together between the conversation prompts. - Robert

I would recommend this course to anybody, even if you aren’t getting married. It brought so much more knowledge and understanding. It really brought us closer and we were able to connect on a deeper level and we actually really enjoyed doing each module and reading through each other’s answers. Rev. Frank is so quick to respond back which is another added bonus. - Emily
I personally had a good time taking the time to think about the questions being asked and openly express how I truly felt about them. With that being said, I enjoyed sharing my responses with my spouse even more, and laughing as well as being surprised with one another’s responses pertaining to certain questions. It was really eye opening and helped me see things from my spouse’s point of view as well and get out of my own realm, which I find harder to do at times. I would also recommend this course to any couple and will definitely be sharing it with friends of my own who have weddings coming up this year. - Jady

I would say that it is worth the time to other couples. - Addie
I enjoyed the opportunity to talk about important issues in a guided and intentional format. I also found the guide to resolve issues to be helpful. Overall, it was a fun and useful experience that brought us closer together. I would say to other couples that this is a good opportunity to slow down amid wedding planning and focus our attention on the most important part of the marriage which is our relationship and our reasons for getting married. - Steve

Carley and Garrett
Minnesota / Christian (Non-Denominational) Course
Overall, I think this course was very enjoyable and helpful. While I feel like Garrett and I had a lot of these conversations already, it was helpful to see everything on paper with a natural progression. I hope we can take these tools into our marriage and use them when issues arise. One small suggestion would be to put the videos before each section. We did end up doing the work before watching the video, as it was placed after the worksheets. Overall, the course was wonderful! - Carley
This course was helpful, it generated a lot of valuable conversations and sparked some new ideas. I think it allowed us to dial in some things we need to work on as a couple, but it also provided a lot of confidence and optimism for us moving forward into marriage. This course was very helpful to me because it got us out of our comfort zone and had us talk about difficult topics. I believe we learned a lot about each other in this course. We had important discussions that we wouldn’t necessarily think about without prompts. I enjoyed the couple’s quiz we took. That told us a lot about different topics that we agreed upon or needed to work on. I would tell other couples that this is a great course to start your marriage journey with. I also like that we continue to do these assignments on our anniversaries to keep up with what we are learning and what we will need to learn about each other through our marriage. Thank you! - Allison
When I first found this course for pre-marital counseling, I didn't know what to expect or how much my fiance and I would get out of it. I was pleasantly surprised how much it has helped our relationship grow and deepen over the course of the conversations. It was very enjoyable and helpful to have each conversation that we could complete on our own timeline. To other couples who are thinking about taking a course like this, I would highly recommend this course! It makes sure you cover many of the main topics that tend to be arguments or friction points between couples after marriage if they haven't discussed them previously. Lastly, we did take the optional Couple Check Up quiz that highlighted areas where we have strengths and also areas where we have room for improvement. Very helpful to have that kind of insight into our relationship as we approach marriage. Thank you for providing this course! – Chris

Brianna and Christopher
Minnesota / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
Dear Rev. Frank, I really enjoyed this course for my fiancé and I. It was good to have some deeper conversations about our love for each other, our want/needs for our future, and conflicts. This course helped bring us back to the reason why we do truly love each other and why we are choosing to get married, especially in the midst of wedding planning and the stress that comes with it. The conversations never felt forced and flowed very easily. I enjoyed the simplicity of the sections, they were not too hard of questions, but enough to get good conversations flowing.
Though, my fiancé and I know each other pretty well (and would be a little scary for couples if they didn’t know the answer to some of these questions) it still was good for us to re-surface some of these conversations. I would recommend this course to any of my friends getting married because I think it helps you fully understand the views of what you and your partner want going forward as a married couple. - Brianna
I enjoyed this marriage class. I liked how it was broken up into sections and that we were able to talk about each section one at a time. All of these sections are important issues for marriage, and I felt it did a good job covering all of them. I also enjoyed that there were lots of positive outcomes from these discussions. I felt encouraged that we found good solutions through open discussions on the many topics. Some of these topics may not have come up until it was too late into our marriage, so it was good to start those conversations now in this course.
I would recommend this course to any of my friends who are engaged. I would explain to them how it feels even better once you are on the same page about these topics rather than avoiding them. I feel Bri and I have a better understanding of one another now that we have gone through this course, and it makes me even more excited to be married. I want nothing by happy marriages from my friends, and I know this course could help with that. - Christopher

I am really glad we took the time to do this course. It was a great opportunity for us to dedicate time to focus all of our attention on each other and really connect. I enjoyed this marriage counseling course because it showed me and my fiancé what to expect in marriage and how to tackle any challenges that may come our way. Specifically, one of the helpful items this course provided was how to resolve our conflicts. Another helpful topic we discussed was to make sure my fiancé and I are on the same page financially and brought to the table things that we have not thought of before. I would recommend this course to other couples because I feel closer to my fiancé and even more excited to marry her. - Traver

Rizo and Filippo
California / Catholic Marriage Prep
We are so grateful that we found this online course and it's also cheaper compared to other online courses that our too expensive for us. The questions on these assignments helped us a lot and reminded us of the main reason why we are getting a convalidation of our marriage. We want God to be the center of our marriage and family. Thank you so much for helping us. - Rizo
Rev. Thank you because of this online training. Me and my wife are reminded of why we want to officially convalidate our marriage in church. We want our son to be able to be proud of us that we want to serve the church and are married in church, not only in a civil wedding. The questions are very clear and on point for what really matters and what is important in marriage. - Filippo

Denise and Trevor
Pennsylvania / Catholic Marriage Prep
I really enjoyed the course. I thought that the topics of discussion were relevant and important things to make sure that we have discussed prior to entering into a marriage. We had really good, in-depth conversations that were inspired by the conversation topics and learned a lot about each other. - Denise
The course was great! They included a lot of topics that we had discussed previously but the questions encouraged us to talk about them even more in depth. I learned even more about her upbringing than I already knew which, I think, will be a great indication of how we will raise children together. - Trevor

Kimberly and Evan
Pennsylvania / Catholic Marriage Prep
We decided to do this Pre-Cana course to prepare us for marriage because it was flexible with our schedules and was a budget friendly option. I enjoyed this course because it facilitated a lot of meaningful discussion between us. We have discussed many of these topics before but I felt that the questions went even deeper, even making us reach within ourselves which really helped to process things going on in our lives currently. An eye-opening module was “Issues” where we discussed our struggles in searching for our first home. I liked it because it’s an issue that we have been dealing with since our engagement and is stressful to us, but this course gave us the tools to talk out what about it was stressful to us and even allowed us to openly discuss possible resolutions for a not-so-simple problem. I especially loved the checklist of emotions that was utilized in a few of the modules, because sometimes it can even be hard to distinguish how we feel about things that may be complex (like our relationship with our parents for example). I would definitely recommend this course to other couples who are getting married, as I think it is a great way to get important conversations going, and it helps to display God’s presence in marriage. - Kimberly
When my fiancé and I were first starting this program, we thought that it would not be helpful at all and that it would just be another thing to check off on the list before marriage; we were wrong. This program has helped us substantially to converse about some things we hadn't even thought about before, like how our individual upbringings affect how we view each other’s roles in a marriage. If I could say anything to other couples, it would be to have an open mind about this program and especially each other: even if you think you have talked about everything, there is probably something you missed and this program will have you discuss it in meaningful ways. - Evan

Lia and Rodolfo
Florida / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
I am a Miami-native, soon to be married woman in Miami, Florida who took Rev. Frank Nelson’s pre-marital course. I chose to take this course specifically because it was not religiously affiliated, even though I have my own religious beliefs. I also chose this course because it was an at home course that could be completed at your own pace. I find that often in this busy life that we all live, when we are obligated to do something in a certain time it can hinder the outcome of the assignment. If we are not in the right mindset or general state to commit to something, often it’s best that it waits until we are. Having the ability to do this course at home, at our pace, in our own privacy and intimacy truly made this course stand out to me.
Each section of the coursework was impactful and made us reflect on our past and think about the future. It was eye opening to see how much we learned about the topics, of which I thought we were already on the same page about. It was enjoyable but not exhausting, and the questions were engaging and challenged us to think. Overall, I think it has provided us with an additional foundation of which we already had and prepared us even more for this next chapter in our lives. I am thankful to have found such a great course that was inexpensive and as meaningful as it was. I would recommend this course genuinely to anyone I know and hope it is as worthy to them as it was to us. I am grateful to have done this in my own home and on my own time because it allowed us to truly connect even more during the days we prepare for our special day. - Lia
While the pre-marital course is a requirement for our Courthouse to avoid the 3-day waiting period, I had always wanted to find a way to connect on certain topics with my soon to be wife. While I am not a practicing religious person, I find myself to believe that this type of preparation whether through a church or not is highly beneficial. While going through the coursework I learned that my soon-to-be wife and I have some small differences on the way in which we want to proceed on certain things. I think that the way in which the course is outlined gave us the opportunity to sit, in private, at home, and talk about different things. Understanding where we each came from, and how we want to move forward. I think that even though neither of us are very religious, we appreciated talking about our faith, our values, our parents, and how all those areas affect us as a couple.
The coursework was easy to follow and fun to take part in. I think that being able to do it together over dinner, having these meaningful conversations was truly beneficial for us. While we had no idea how impactful it would be, I am grateful for the time we have spent together doing this assignment. It was a wonderful experience, and I am glad we took the time to do this, as it started some very important conversations. I thank the team that put this together and that offers this course and appreciate the value it added to our pre-marriage process. – Rodolfo

Texas / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
The course was great, I think we were able to break down parts of things we wouldn’t normally discuss and speak about little details in situations that we both agree to take with us into our marriage and make our relationship stronger than we would of before. It was extremely helpful and an eye opener. If I had any advice to other couples, it would be to always do your very best to understand where your partner is coming from even if you don’t agree. Not everyone sees eye to eye and that is okay. - Karlee
We loved the course. It helped us to open up to one another about personal things we have kept bottled up. I loved that we were able to go step by step and break down each point. The issues part was by far the most helpful and we will be practicing that from here on out. If I could tell other couples one thing it would be that this is very eye opening and forces you to have the hard conversations that you may not have on your own. Very much so worth the time spent and money. - Johnathon

I really enjoyed the format of this online pre-Cana and thought it was a great way to strengthen the relationship between my husband and I. I liked the interactive assignments; they were very beneficial to promoting some important conversations between my husband and I. I liked how this pre-Cana captured all the important topics engaged and married couples need to discuss like family, faith, finances, and romance. I would recommend this pre-Cana for engaged couples before they enter the sacred covenant of marriage, or even for married couples who need to strengthen their relationship. Thank you for this opportunity. - Theresa
I really enjoyed this pre-Cana program as it fostered valuable conversations between my wife and I. We had to complete this pre-Cana before a blessing of our marriage and I believe the program can be beneficial not only for engaged couples, but for married couples too. My wife and I were able to discuss important topics in depth. Before our marriage we only scratched the surface on some of these topics. I am thankful for the experience of this pre-Cana and would recommend it to anyone. - Frank

We definitely grew during this course! My favorite parts were hearing what he loves and appreciates about me that he might not have vocalized prior. I also liked the parts where we talked about our childhoods. I also really appreciated the promises we made to each other in the last session. I found the advice for open communication (the bucket) helpful as well as the advice for conflict resolution. To other couples, I'd say you have nothing to lose and only things to gain from going through the course. You might find a stronger bond by the end of it. - Emily
This course was enjoyable due to the fact that it showed how strong our compatibilities are as there was great overlap on things brought up that we hadn't discussed yet. It was helpful for very much the same reason, bringing up important things we hadn't ironed out yet. To other couples I would say go into it with honesty and have the bonds of your relationship strengthened. - Matt

Mariah and Pabel

I was honestly surprised by this course. Going into this, I honestly expected it to be a pain to complete with irrelevant material and overly religious guidance. I was very wrong. This course offered great conversation points to help us dig into memories of good and bad in the relationship and to truly make us think, is marriage the right step? Our conclusions were the same, YES! The course made me fall in love with my future husband all over again. I would highly recommend this for someone who sometimes finds it hard to express themselves but has the desire to let their partner know they do truly love them. - Mariah
The course was a bit difficult and abstract in format, but it was good conversation points. It helped me learn a bit more about what I want from my life once we are married. It also helped remind me of some of the good times while we were dating that I had not thought about in a while. I would recommend it for its ease of access with being fully online without needing an in-person meeting. - Pabel
Nicole and Phil
Vermont / Catholic Marriage Prep
We enjoyed these conversations so much! At first, we thought it was going to focus so much on the Catholic religion that my fiancée Phil would be lost since he is not Catholic, but we were pleasantly surprised that the conversations focused more on our life together while incorporating the religion! We had so much fun having these conversations and they really brought up topics that we haven't had deep conversations about yet. Many of them were emotional and brought us even closer together as a couple. We have talked to our families and friends about how great these conversations have been, and we think that every couple should do them even if they are already married. That is how much we enjoyed them! Thank you so much! - Nicole
I want to say thank you for facilitating this experience for us. I think I can speak for both of us when I say that it was a great learning experience that led to many conversations that we would not have typically had in our day-to-day life. I personally appreciated this opportunity to talk about some of the big things in life and having some hard conversations that are often avoided. We laughed, cried, and learned so much from doing this together. Again, thank you for providing guidance for us before we start this journey. - Phil

I had a lot of fun completing the guided conversations; the one I had the most fun with was Our Love Life. I enjoy getting my husband's perspective on our past five years, and I admire all the important topics brought up to ensure getting married is the right choice for a couple. I really appreciated the Issues guided conversation because it allowed us to break it down into smaller steps so we could more effectively resolve the issue and talk about it amicably. - Johanna
I enjoyed getting to reminisce about my relationship with my fiancée. The questions about our times together and our feelings were especially fun to talk about. The most helpful part in my opinion is the rules for resolving conflict. I think it's essential for any relationship to use these if they want it to last. And to other couples I'd say to make sure and work on it well before a deadline if you have one to make sure you can get the most enjoyment out of it because it really is a pleasant guide. - Aidan

I want to say that the course was really easy and enjoyable to do. It helped me understand my partner and his view of me. It brought us closer together before our ceremony. I would recommend for couples to do this so that they could see how their partners view them, I know that I loved it. - Citaly
The course was great! Each lesson was really easy and intriguing to listen to and I feel even closer to my fiance than ever! The questions were easy and relatable, so they were easy to answer. And now with this we're ready to get married! - Ethan

Cynera and Shashwat
India / Roman Catholic Course
This course has been one of the best couple exercises we have done together. I expected the course to help strengthen us spiritually, but it did so much more than that. I've really enjoyed having deep discussions when doing each assignment. We talked for hours. It was romantic and heartfelt and really sweet. He said the nicest things to me, stuff he has not spoken about for years now. I think the most helpful assignment was resolving issues. While we have spoken about this issue before, what we had not done was sit together and think of all possible solutions and the timeline to implement them. This has been massively beneficial for us, and I really thank you. I feel like the biggest change after this course is that our communication is so much better. I feel closer to him than ever and it is a wonderful feeling leading up to the wedding! - Cynera
Some of my favorite exercises we did during the course were 'Our parents' and 'Before we say I do'. I really liked the 'parents' assignment because it nudged me towards thinking about what our relationship is like now and what has been my contribution towards making it better. I believe I can do more to improve our relationship and will work on that in the future. I really liked taking 'Before we say I do' because it reminded me of all the reasons we chose each other. Exercises like 'money' and 'resolving issues' were great for setting us up with a healthy foundation going into the marriage. They were very helpful. I would say that I am a changed person after this course because I introspected a lot more on things that I take for granted. I now know why the Reverend said that when you do the first exercise together, you will definitely do all of them. We were a very firm part of that statistic. - Shashwat

Maria and Kyle
South Carolina / Roman Catholic Course
I really enjoyed taking the course. I feel like Kyle and I were able to break some uncomfortable barriers and speak about things we normally don't discuss on a daily basis. It was also very sweet to hear the kind words Kyle said about me, his family, and his way of thinking about how we want to raise our children. I am super happy with the results of this course and know Kyle and I will be able to refer back to these documents when we are feeling stressed or needing some reassurance. I feel we both now have a better understanding of what it takes to have a happy, healthy, and respectful marriage. - Maria
I enjoyed the depth of conversation it brought us. We rarely if ever dived that deep into some of those questions, so I feel like it did a great job of preparing us for marriage. I especially like the document outlining some of the items we want to teach our children. It opened a great discussion between us to set clear expectations. - Kyle

Thank you for this course! It was a nice way to refocus on what’s important and why we’re getting married. It can be easy to get bogged down in the details or day-to-day life, and this was a lovely way to remember to prioritize each other and our relationship as we move forward. We will definitely be using the format outlined in the Issues section to apply to future arguments. I really liked that structure and how it focused on both our individual needs as well as the needs of us as a couple. Thank you! - Cori
As for the course, I will say that it really made us have conversations that we would've otherwise not had in the aftermath of an argument. This way, we got to hear each other out (really hear each other) instead of being in a headspace where we're simply waiting for the other to finish. Thank you! - Rik

Jennifer and Gilberto

I thought this course was helpful for Jennifer and I to discuss topics that we might be reluctant to discuss because they might cause conflict in our relationship. Those topics are crucial to talk about because they can determine how healthy a relationship is. I recommend other couples to take this course. It is a great way to initiate complex conversations. - Gilberto
This course helped Gil and I talk about a lot of critical things we have been putting off such as finances and expectations. I also think the resolving conflict course has been helpful because it allowed us to talk about a pain point that we always argued about. Overall, I thought the conversation dates were meaningful and allowed us to grow closer. I would highly recommend this course to other couples. - Jennifer

Taking this course has helped me learn and understand my partner better. It was enjoyable in a way where we get to reminisce about our younger days and learn/relearn about each other. I found it helpful especially in learning to understand how we both communicate and trying to normalize saying how we feel rather than expect it. One thing I can take away from this and share with other couples is to make sure you both set time apart to really do this course together.
I know people hear it all the time that communication is key, but we forget that some might need more processing before having a conversation, and that’s okay. Thank you so much for the course you have put together for couples, I love that we had time to reflect on scriptures, videos, and that 1 minute of holding hands together while praying, definitely add a special touch. It really felt like we are not just doing it alone but with God in the midst of our relationship. – Bao
My experience with the course was great. I enjoyed doing it with my partner and we got to have deep conversations. The course helped guide us to deepen our relationship and reminded us about our love for each other. I would say to other couples to take the time to go through this course. Thank you for creating this course to help couples deepen their relationship together and with God apart of it all. - Johnny

Kaitlyn and Justin
Texas / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
I felt as though the course started a lot of good conversations between the two of us on some topics that may not have come up without it. I think it forced certain things to come up that we may have been avoiding discussing for one reason or another. Most of the things that came up were small, but I think it’s the little things that add up over time that can make relationships work. - Justin
We learned something different about how each other thinks or feels in certain situations that maybe we hadn’t had conversations about before. I am blessed to be in a very open and honest relationship, and I am very proud to be taking his last name. I also enjoyed being able to go through the different values that I see in him, and also been given the choice to add additional values that I had not thought about in a long time. We have printed out the rules of conflict and put it on the refrigerator, and I can genuinely promise you that this is something that we will reference anytime there is a disagreement in our marriage. We thank you for the opportunity for us to go deeper into ourselves in our relationship. - Kaitlyn

Amelia and De Ping

I would say it’s been an interesting journey, and this course has made me explore areas I haven’t thought too much about. These things actually molded my behavior and how I handle my daily decisions. So, for me, it was a journey of self-exploration apart from getting to know my partner better. This also encouraged open conversations between us, and it made sharing more comfortable which is a good start for our future. It was Past, Present and Future all set into thoughts which was a good review of life for me. - Amelia
It was a deep soul-searching experience that made us think and review our lives. It showed us how our culture and differences affected our current selves, and this helped us understand each other better. It was enjoyable to talk about our future plans, family planning and getting to know how she felt and thought was interesting. It gave us time to sit down, think and discuss our future plans. Lately, many things have cropped up this year and our plans haven’t been very smooth. The major setback is her health and with that as a new priority we had many things to re-think. These sessions helped us settle our thoughts and set our minds aligned. - De Ping

This was a fantastic course!!! I never expected to have such vulnerable, fun, and delightful conversations with my partner. Through each step, I grew more excited and admired the person I am about to marry and the team we are starting to form. It also was an excellent exercise to honor the family I come from and the one that I am about to be part of and create with my partner. Thank you for this great resource!! Your kindness and open-heartedness could be felt through the screen. We loved being guided by Rev. Dr. Frank. - Claudia
This course was very insightful for me. Some of the topics that are covered were discussed previously months ago. Nevertheless, it’s great to bring them back to the table and open your heart to share it as a couple. It was enjoyable for me to express my love to my girlfriend through some of the answers to the exercises as well as receive it from her. In addition, the Issues and Conflicts exercise was helpful because we obtained better information on the root causes of our discussions and how to be more aware of the resolutions. In general, I would definitely recommend the teachings of Reverend Dr. Frank, Thank you so much! - Roberto

I really enjoyed the preparation, and I can honestly say it brought us closer together. After the second session we had, I felt very good about my decision to be with my fiancé because I could see how similar we are. So many of the questions we answered with a similar view, and we talked about deep things and laughed together. I'm glad we had an opportunity to do the preparation online because my fiancé and I live in two different countries, and this was the only option we had. Thank you for creating it! - Alena
Thank you for creating the online preparation. It helped us to do it even when being apart from each other. I liked the questions that are asked because it requires very well and exact thinking about our imagination of being married to each other. All together I think it helped us to grow closer and be more sure about our decision. - Julian

This pre-marital course has really opened my eyes to a lot of what makes a marriage a good and strong one. Everything from self-improvement to coexisting in a harmonious home. I have also turned to God more because of this course, I can't explain how many times I have felt the holy spirit envelope my body or run through our hands when we would hold hands while praying before every course. I have definitely enjoyed this whole-heartedly and can't say thanks enough for having experienced it, truly it was a God send. I would recommend this to anyone seriously thinking about tying the knot. I would say keep an open mind and be honest all the way through because it will be that much more better at the end. Thank you, Rev. Doctor Frank Nelson. - Xavier
The Online Marriage Preparation course provided to us by Rev. Dr. Frank Nelson was so helpful as we are preparing to tie the knot. Even though our relationship is not new, and we have been together a few years, it still helped us open & start conversations we had never opened before.
We connected deeper than we have in the past. It was very enjoyable to connect through the important conversations in the course, as we don’t get many date nights due to having children. I highly recommend couples to take the faith based online marriage preparation. We learned how much we loved praying together alone because of this course. We are definitely going to be using this process for important conversations in the future and will be using our prayers and answers as reference guides. My favorite part of the course was opening up to each other while leaving room for our Heavenly Father to be present with us. - Beatrice
Alexandra and Andre
Texas / Christian (Non-Denominational) Course
I am so glad that we chose to complete this course. Andre and I are in a very unique situation, which can be hard on both of us at times. Communication is so vital. Even more so, effective communication. We both absolutely agree on this, but we have found it hard at times. This course has given us a much better understanding of each other and our individual needs. We found a way to communicate more openly and honestly and were able to express things we might not have before.
I learned so much about my husband to be and it has made me appreciate him more and fall deeper in love with him. The entire course was amazing and the Rules for Resolving Conflict has really made us both think and revisit some of the conflicts we had in the past and think about how we could have dealt with them better. I have printed them, and we will read them out on our wedding day, sign them and then frame them for our future house together.
I want to tell all couples that are considering this course, please do it. I pray for all couples to have a blessed, wonderful marriage and I can say with complete confidence that this course will help you achieve that. God bless you Rev Dr Nelson for giving us the opportunity to learn from you and we will definitely be going back to this course again and again. - Alexandra

Aimee and Max
Pennsylvania / Catholic Marriage Prep
I enjoyed this course for several reasons. I am Catholic but it was easily digestible for my fiance who is Christian. The questions in the worksheets asked about core feelings that affect every aspect of our marriage. I feel that our communication has improved after taking this course. We have a better sense of how to deal with big and small issues as they arise in our marriage. It also reinforced the fact that we love each other so much and at the end of the day, that is what this whole wedding is about.
The course format was helpful for two individuals with crazy work schedules. It also forced us to carve out time to connect which we sometimes forget about in the hustle and bustle of wedding planning. Your suggestions for making a date night surrounding these conversations not only helped our relationship grow, but also made this something fun. I recommend this course for anyone getting married regardless of if they are Catholic or not. - Aimee
I really found this course to be helpful. It not only allowed me to feel closer to God and better with my faith, but it enabled us as a couple about to get married to have conversations that were much needed. It was great to hear about my future partner's goals/life plans and really break down our core values. Everything was easily broken down, and I enjoyed the format of the conversations and the overall course itself.
I feel that this will honestly set us up for success as we head towards our big day. I feel like we became closer through this and will be stronger for it as well. As issues arise throughout our marriage, we will be prepared to approach them and power through in a way that's healthy for our relationship. I would tell other couples to take advantage of this course regardless of their faith, as it provided us with a tremendous amount of growth as a couple. - Max

I loved how easy and accessible the course was. I enjoyed going through it at our own pace, which allowed us to pause if there were topics that we needed to spend more time as a couple speaking about. - Marissa

This course allowed us to have conversations I didn’t even realize we needed to have. I work long, late hours so I enjoyed being able to visit the course when we both had time. I feel like we got much more out of it because of the flexible schedule. This course gave us helpful tools to use throughout our marriage. It was time well spent together! - Kristi

My fiancé and I thoroughly enjoyed your online course. Many of the conversations were things that we have touched base on previously, but never took the time to sit down and talk about in their entirety. We opened up a lot of new talking points as well...things like our difficulty with communication, our relationship to faith & re-learning how to handle conflict/resolution, that we will continue to work through and strive for. This, combined with in-person reflection with our officiant, has been my favorite part of the wedding planning journey. It has grounded me in the chaos of trivial planning tasks, which when all is said & done, will not determine the success of our marriage. I feel we've built an incredibly strong base to keep working & growing upon. I recommend this course! - Christina
I really enjoyed how in this course we were able to take large "concepts" and apply them to the practicalities of marriage. Things like Children, Money, and doing my part in our home are things we will deal with daily. This course goes beyond just our time we have spent preparing for marriage. The course will provide for us in the many years to come in our marriage. I look forward to reflecting each year on our marriage and using the worksheet and exercise provided by the course. I think perhaps the single most beneficial tool of this course was the framework for resolving issues. I can see us using this very often for any range of issues, large or small. It is almost like having an impartial third party with us at all times to help mediate in the event of conflict and bring us together. Thanks Rev. Dr. Frank - Kevin

This course allowed me and my fiance to have the “hard conversations,” and if it weren’t for this course, I am not sure when we would’ve talked about these very important topics such as: where we will pull our weight, strengths, and weaknesses, how we want to raise our kids, where our in-laws will play a role in our life, employment dreams/goals, etc. I am so grateful for this course; it allowed me to get to know my fiance better and truly appreciate his perspective on these topics. I feel so much closer to him and even more confident about our decision to get married. I would suggest this course to anyone! - Breanna
The marriage prep course was great for Bre and I's marriage preparations and marriage growth. The enjoyable and helpful parts centered around having conversations that we may have never thought to have had if we had not done the course. Also, learning things about each other's past, or how we were each raised gives us a deeper understanding and appreciation for each other. To other couples I would say dive in and put your heart into this preparation, it is important and will only make your love for each other, and faith as a couple stronger. - Timothy

Luke and Elsa
Christian / Minnesota
Dear Rev. Frank, I really enjoyed the structured conversations in this course. It’s nice to be assured that we’ve talked about a lot of the important things while leading into marriage. It’s a good compilation of conversations I think are needed to have before jumping into a marriage. I think we’re both more prepared for marriage by having formal conversations about a lot of these topics. We’ve obviously chatted about all of them before but it’s also good to take a step back and make sure we’re on the same page. I would definitely encourage a marriage course like this to all of my friends before marriage so they can make sure they have all of these important conversations. - Elsa
Dear Rev. Frank, I greatly enjoyed going through the course. It forced Elsa and I to sit down and make sure we understand and learn from each other. We have had many of these conversations in the past and did not learn a lot of knew things about one another, but the way that the conversations were laid out forced us to consider a lot of different questions at the same time rather than addressing them as they appear in life. This was very helpful because we were able to have quality time while also focusing on learning more about one another. I don't think the course has drastically changed me or my relationship with Elsa, but I do think the issues discussion was especially helpful because it will allow us to be able to have a template for these kinds of conversations in the future. I would highly recommend this course to other couples because it forces you to make sure that you have important conversations rather than just get married. This kind of value brings you closer to your partner and better prepares you for life after marriage. - Luke

I liked that we were made to talk in a different way, holding hands made us more in tune and that together we are against problems and we are two in this marriage. We are willing to fight for this relationship and that we will learn little by little what we lack if we are willing to talk. I liked that the course talks about several steps, about how to take the various points of view, and talk about things that we had not thought of. - Jahat
I consider that it was very useful in the part in which they challenged us to talk about a specific problem that had not been resolved, since in reality we did have a problem that we had not wanted to discuss because we lacked maturity when talking. But with the support from this course we were able to discuss the idea of adding to our relationship and we did it calmly, in an orderly manner, trying to solve the problem and not make it bigger, which is why I think it was very helpful and helped us grow as a couple and mature in the area of communication. - Alexandra

I enjoyed doing the course, as it allowed Wes and I to have a lot of different conversations over the course of a few weeks. Though we had talked about a lot of the issues before, it was nice to have written out answers that we went through, so that we both felt completely heard on the issues. I also liked the specific questions we answered, as it brought up issues that we had not previously discussed before, even if we had generally talked about the topic before. Overall, I think the course had excellent questions, and I really enjoyed the self-pacing so that we could choose which topics to spend more time on if needed. - Montana
I enjoyed these exercises more than I initially imagined I would. It was actually nice to reflect on our relationship and what it means to me as we get closer to the day of the wedding. My favorite sections were the ones we wrote to our parents, as well as each other’s. It gave me insight into what our marriage will be like, as I thought about things in a perspective I hadn’t before. I also loved getting to reminisce on the early days of our relationship and how it led us to this point. It mentally prepped me for the wedding day. I am and probably will still be nervous, but getting to do it with you will ease my mind when it comes time. Finally, I thought the course’s questions about household responsibilities and finances brought up some excellent points. We have discussed some things about money/work/chores/etc. before, but never with as much purpose and detail as this. I feel truly more prepared to get married and to be the husband you deserve after finishing this course. - Wes

Thank you so much for the online course. I think it was great to have no distractions and open up and have good conversations. It was so easy to speak deeply and be vulnerable when it’s just the two of us completing this at home. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone that is also in the process of getting married. Thank you again, greatly appreciated! - Braden
Thank you for putting this together. My fiancé and I have sat down and completed this course over the last few weeks. We have had so many great conversations due to being asked some of those difficult questions and have learned so much about each others childhoods and how we each were raised. There have been many tears, laughter, and conversations from this course which has brought us together and prepared us for marriage, raising children, and living a long happy life together. I would highly recommend this course as we were able to complete it on our own time and connect without feeling vulnerable in the presence of others. - Cassidy

We enjoyed every moment of it! My overall experience with this course was wonderful and very fun to work with. I enjoyed the different conversation activities, especially the conversations we had to complete together. This course was extremely helpful to me as well as my fiancé. It really made us think and talk about things and issues we barely discuss as often as we should. This course also convicted me with my overall relationship with God and how I should give him more time personally as well with my fiancé. I would recommend this course to any Christian couple who are both God fearing and truly committed to putting God first and keeping God first in their future marriages! Thank you, Rev, for your brilliant service!! God Bless you! - Shannon and Hauilah

Dear Rev. Frank, my experience with the Catholic Online Marriage Preparation course was great. This online platform was so convenient and helpful for us in the months leading up to our wedding. Over the last year, we have undergone couples counseling in preparation for our wedding. We felt this course reiterated some of those very important topics every couple should discuss and helped strengthen that foundation we had already received from therapy. I truly enjoyed the format of the class and how each of the conversations was so engaging and eye-opening. My favorite section was “Doing our Part,” as it helped really better understand our daily routine and how we can better help each other in this marriage. I would definitely recommend this course to friends and family looking for an interactive, easy to follow lesson plan. - Jeanette
Something that I enjoyed about this experience most was sitting down with my partner and discussing important topics that need to be talked about within our marriage. The most helpful for me were the guided exercises. This has helped me feel more prepared for marriage by taking our first steps into having deep conversations with my partner. I would say that this course is something that will definitely help one’s marriage become stronger. This course was also convenient for us since we both ran on different schedules, but the course made it easy for us to complete within a reasonable time. I would continue recommending it to family and friends for ease and accessibility. - Robert

Melinda and John
Florida / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
I believe that this this course is very in-depth and opens up lines of communication that couples, even in ones that have been long term, have not sat down and opened up to discuss. It’s important that values and goals are aligned when “feelings” of contentment arise. These will keep the relationship connected while feelings can be fickle. I enjoyed spending this time together in the course, but also makes me feel happy and solidified that we actually have had these discussions without being prompted. I’m glad there is a course so easily available online to meet the needs of our modern world and am very appreciative! Thank you! - Melinda
I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for the exceptional pre-marriage class and your dedication, knowledge, and passion for this subject truly made the experience both enlightening and enjoyable.
The insights we gained during the pre-marriage class have been invaluable and have undoubtedly strengthened the foundation of our relationship. Your expertise and ability to guide us through various aspects of marriage preparation, communication, conflict resolution, and financial management were enlightening and have equipped us with essential tools for building a successful and fulfilling married life.
Your approach to teaching was exceptional, as you created an open and warm environment where we felt comfortable discussing our thoughts and concerns openly. Your ability to foster open communication among the participants was truly commendable, and it allowed us to learn not only from you but from each other's experiences as well.
We are particularly grateful for the practical exercises and real-life examples you shared during the class. They helped us gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and joys that married life can bring, and they will undoubtedly serve as a solid framework for us as we embark on this journey together.
Throughout the course, your dedication and genuine concern for our well-being were evident. Your willingness to address our questions and provide personalized advice showed us that you truly care about the success of each couple you teach.
As my partner and I move forward towards our wedding day and beyond, we will carry the lessons we learned from your pre-marriage class in our hearts. We are confident that the knowledge and skills we acquired will be instrumental in maintaining a loving, respectful, and fulfilling relationship for many years to come.
Once again, thank you for making the pre-marriage class such a positive and transformative experience. We will always remember your guidance and wisdom as we build our future together. We wish you continued success in your mission to help couples prepare for a lifelong journey of love and companionship. - John

Tanner and Anna
Minnesota / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
I enjoyed this course as I was able to sit down with Anna with both of our undivided attention, and discuss important topics about our current relationship, and what we both hope to continue in our future marriage. I think this course was extremely helpful in that it had us talk on a deeper level with critical thinking about topics we have already discussed in the past, or new ones that were beneficial. We both were able to learn a few new things about each other which I thought was cool since we’ve been dating for 6 years, and thought we knew everything there was to know about each other. I would highly recommend this course to other couples as it helps plan and give guidance in what each person wants to see/create in their new marriage. - Tanner
This course was mostly enjoyable, sometimes hard. It brought up some great conversations, things we have touched on before but hadn’t completely dived into, and things we hadn't thought to talk about. It also brought up some negative conversations and things that were hard for me to speak about, mostly surrounding my family. I learned new things about you, and I felt this brought us closer together. - Anna

The marriage preparation course has provided us with a lot of information and conversations that will help us succeed in marriage. Not only did it give us topics to discuss now, but it also provided us with tools to use throughout our relationship, like the "conversation dates", anniversary check in, and conflict resolver. - Alex

Mark and Autumn
Minnesota / Christian (Non-Denominational) Course
Dear, Rev. Frank, we really enjoyed your class. We grew closer as we were forced to spend time discussing our relationship with each other. The questions you brought forward sparked meaningful conversations. We liked having time each week to spend on our own, talking with each other. - Mark
I thoroughly enjoyed this class. It allowed Mark and I time each week dedicated to sit down and reflect on life. Although we had already discussed many of these topics on our own time; we found it helpful to talk it over in a more organized fashion. We enjoyed how we could treat them as a date and believe that it has helped us prepare for marriage. - Autumn

Zachary and Kennedy
Kansas / Christian (Non-Denominational) Course
My experience [with Onlinemarriagepreparation.com] was enjoyable. This course brought up crucial conversations and topics that may have otherwise been unaddressed going into our wedding. I especially enjoyed the “Resolving Issues” template and discussions as this will be a way to resolve issues or make important decisions down the road. My advice to other couples is to take time, undistracted, and truly connect with your partner. They’re what matters most! - Zachary
I have already recommended this course to multiple friends who are getting married. It gave us talking points to conversations we knew we wanted to have but didn't know how to start them. It made us talk about our faith and other issues that have been important to us. Doing it online was also convenient for time management during our busy schedules. - Kennedy

Ellie and Zach
Minnesota / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
I really looked forward to every one of these conversations. It made me reflect on the reason for the entire process of our wedding. It brought us closer, and I especially loved the conversation about our expectations for our wedding day. I recommend this course to people who have complicated faith lives and still want to experience the process of devoting time to understanding each other in anticipation of the wedding day. - Ellie
I thought the course was beneficial for us to make sure we talked about important topics prior to the wedding. I was happy when we went through it, to find that we had previously discussed many of them but there were some that we hadn’t. This is a good course to do if you just want to spend the time between you and your partner, instead of a large retreat. It makes the conversations more personal and made discussing things openly and honestly, easier. - Zach

Matthew and Jacqueline
Texas / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
I really enjoyed the talking points. I loved that I could look upon these and realize we have already shared most of these conversations before, but some of the answers have changed and others remain consistent. I did cry a lot, especially when talking about my background, but I think they were healing tears. Of course, Matty was right here with me and like he always does - he hugs me and gives me his supportive smile and touch. To other couples, start asking these questions early. I am thankful that Matthew liked to play the question games, particularly with deeper conversations, at the beginning of our dating. We wanted to know these things about each other, and I think it really helped solidify our friendship and our relationship. We already knew our values. I did, of course, learn a few new things about him during this course and I also enjoyed hearing old sentiments that he expressed to me again. I appreciate that this course was available. - Jacqueline
The talking points provided a valuable framework that allowed us to reflect on our relationship in a profound way. It was truly eye-opening to revisit these conversations and realize that we had already engaged in many of them before, but with new insights and evolved perspectives, some of our answers had changed while others remained consistent like Jacqueline said. We are immensely thankful for the availability of this course, as it has played a significant role in our ongoing journey of growth and connection. Thank you again for this opportunity. - Matthew

Rick and Martha
Texas / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
Though we have been friends for over 50 years and are now 70, your course did provide some excellent conversational starting points to enhance our already wonderful relationship. Certainly “issues” and “rules for resolving conflict” are applicable for any close relationship. Obviously some segments were more applicable than others. Best Regards - Rick
Entering into any second marriage probably calls for a bit of caution. The step-by-step approach included in this marriage preparation material guided this couple of 70-year-olds into helpful conversations on a wide range of relationship topics. We enjoyed hearing each other’s thoughts—and hopefully learned from those exercises. Thank you, Reverend Frank! - Martha

Carlos and Gabriela
Texas / Christian (Non-Denominational) Course
It was nice to be motivated to talk about things that might be difficult or maybe even uncomfortable to talk about. And it was very helpful to have a list of topics of conversation that we might not have thought of. I think it helped to give our marriage a strong start by addressing all of these topics in guided conversations. - Carlos
The online marriage preparation course was actually pretty cool because it had some topics that I hadn’t thought of discussing with my partner. It also outlined some conversations that we could’ve had but maybe not as successfully on our own. - Gabriela

Sam and Kevin
Pennsylvania / Catholic Marriage Prep
I really enjoyed the Pre Cana course. We have been doing couples counseling in preparation for the wedding and a lot of the topics were similar. It allowed us to revisit some important topics and have those sometimes difficult but necessary discussions with each other prior to our wedding day. I really enjoyed the section “Our Wedding Day” because it made me think of what I want to focus on not only the wedding day but also after the wedding day. These discussions on all the topics were great and makes me feel even more comfortable going into the wedding day. - Sam
This Pre Cana course was fantastic and very helpful. I am a lifelong Catholic and despite Sam not being baptized/any religious affiliation, it felt very comfortable to do between us. It allowed us to talk about many different topics and the questions were very thought provoking. I really enjoyed the section on Parents because it made me reflect on everything my parents have done for me and reminded me to show appreciation to them during the wedding planning and on the day for raising me to become who I am that led me to Sam and our future. - Kevin

Silvana and Kenneth
Florida / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
I enjoyed how this course was broken up into different sections, each focusing on a different aspect of marriage. We discussed communication, expectations and roles, finances, problem solving, parenting, and relationships with family and friends. All of these topics were discussed in an open and honest way. The course had assignments that helped us learn more about each other and how to work through our differences. It was incredibly fun reminiscing back 10 years to when we first met. At the end of the course, I felt much more prepared for this next step in our relationship. We had a better understanding of what to expect and how to handle marriage challenges. We also felt more connected to each other and had a clearer understanding of how to make our marriage a success. Overall, the pre-marital course was an invaluable experience. It helped me to gain a better understanding of myself and my partner and gave me the tools to navigate any issues that may arise in the future. I am grateful for the knowledge and experience I have gained, and I recommend the course to any couple who is preparing to get married. - Silvana
I was interested to see what I could learn from the course and how it would help me. Being together for a little over a decade, I thought we had everything down. Nothing new to learn. Ultimately, I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of knowledge and insight the course had to offer. We discussed topics like communication, compromise, finances, family dynamics, and roles and expectations within the marriage. We learned the importance of trust, honesty, and respect, and how these values can help to build a strong and lasting marriage. The course also gave us practical tips and advice on topics such as budgeting, parenting, and handling disagreements. We were encouraged to have an open dialogue with each other and to practice active listening. The assignments were a great help. Overall, the pre-marital course was an insightful and invaluable experience. It gave me greater insight into the dynamics of marriage and helped me gain a better understanding of how to make it successful. It also gave me the chance to consider my own expectations and those of my partner, and to think about how we could work together to make our marriage a successful one. - Kenneth

Caroline and Justin
Texas / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
I really enjoyed completing this course with Justin. It was helpful to talk through everything. We have great communication as it stands but it was enlightening to find a couple of areas we can improve on (finances and chores). I would absolutely recommend this course to other couples, no matter where they are in their relationship journey! – Caroline
I found this course to be very helpful. My fiancé and I have always had a very open and honest dialogue in our relationship, but this course allowed us to shed light on new ways to communicate even more effectively. The portion discussing chores was surprisingly helpful for us. When we first discussed that part of the course, we ran into some issues. We decided to use those issues around chores as our “issue” to focus on during the next part of the course. The issues process was very helpful, and we both finished the exercise feeling better and willing to compromise. I would suggest this course to any other couple entering marriage. – Justin

Melissa and Brad
Texas / Christian (Non-Denominational) Course
My fiancé and I recently journeyed through and completed Rev. Dr. Frank Nelson’s Online Marriage Preparation course, and it was brilliant!
The thoughts and conversations that were ignited led to significant growth in our relationship. We faced honesty, reality and spirituality square in the face, and have emerged stronger and closer than ever. There were emotional conversations, when we recapped the initial reasons we were attracted to each other, and revisited the moments we progressively fell head over heels in love with each other. There were hard conversations about things we don’t typically break down into steps or questions with specific answers. I love the concept of these conversations that target each area of importance in order to have a successful marriage.
After completing this course, we are truly more grateful for each other and for the relationship with which we have been blessed. – Melissa and Brad

Kathy and Ethan
Pennsylvania / Roman Catholic
I really enjoyed this course! I think the prompts were thought-provoking without being repetitive. I think they were perfect prompts to make myself reflect on thoughts from many different perspectives. I liked how there was a fair amount of individual work to be done in order to be introspective, but then there was a guided space to share all of our thoughts. I found the course very helpful in terms of highlighting the most important responsibilities of married life. I would tell other couples that Pre-Cana is essential in marriage preparation in order to put intentional time aside to discuss all the nuances of marriage! - Kathy
We found the course to be incredibly helpful in preparing us for our upcoming marriage. One aspect that we particularly enjoyed was the opportunity to discuss important topics such as communication, conflict resolution, and shared values with our fellow engaged couples. We also appreciated the insights shared by the experienced married couple who spoke during the course. Overall, we feel that the course helped us to build a stronger foundation for our relationship and provided us with valuable tools for navigating the ups and downs of married life. We highly recommend others to consider taking a Pre-Cana course as well. - Ethan

This course was very informative and I learned a lot more about my fiance as well as how to resolve conflict in a healthier way. I enjoyed the new conversations we were able to have. For new couples I’d suggest that you make a date night out of all the courses because some can become stressful and if you are more relaxed it will make it more enjoyable for y’all. - Jesus
I loved this course a lot! It asked questions that we had not discussed and I found them very helpful and interesting and they helped me and my fiance be more on the same page. For other couples I’d say make sure that y’all are both taking this seriously because it honestly helps bring you and your loved one closer together.- Markisha

I appreciated the course. I think this has really helped me and my fiancé to not only think about the planning of the wedding, but to also think about the importance of marriage to God and what is expected of two people who want to get married. It also was a good outline for what a healthy marriage between me and soon to be husband could look like. - Janesha
It helped me to express my love for her in just a small fraction of what I potentially know I have. Understanding her thinking process to create more submission and communication, as well as knowing I must lead by example in life. - Prossineiky

Carmen and Stephen
Texas / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
Dr. Frank Nelson, thank you so much for this course. I really enjoyed having these conversations with Stephen. We have been dating for more than a year and a half, and while I think we have good communication, there are always difficult things to talk about, and this course helped us to do it in a respectful and effective manner. I enjoyed being able to learn more about my fiancé and I am grateful we now have the tools to have effective conversations and resolve issues together, as the team we aspire to be. Thank you so much. - Carmen
Dr. Rev. Nelson, thank you for your online guidance through the pre-marriage course. What I enjoyed most about it was spending time with my fiancée. We are still separated so it was all done online through video calls. We filled out all the lessons together and discussed our answers. I was pleased to see how much we agreed on issues. I was a bit surprised at how the Resolving Issues portion went because we honestly couldn’t think of a good issue to discuss up until a few minutes before we started. We thought it wouldn’t be a big issue, but it did turn out to be more of one than expected. Nonetheless, we came to a resolution. We jokingly said that maybe we’ll use that form every time we have an issue to discuss. We’ll remember the conversations we had while taking this course. Thank you for your congratulations and well-wishes beforehand. - Stephen

Harriet and Sebastian
United Kingdom / Roman Catholic Course
Seb and I really enjoyed this course. It tackled a lot of modern situations as well as the traditional principles and tools to build a good solid marriage. We are already incredibly close, so answering the questions was generally quite a straightforward exercise for us. However, it opened up conversations that may not have occurred to us to have otherwise, and I feel that as a result we are even closer than we were before. It was really great (and very reassuring!) to see just how many topics we had the same approach. I think we also both got to know ourselves better throughout the process too. Definitely a course to take slowly and enjoy each session rather than rush it, but a lovely gift to ourselves before the big day. So happy that we’ve done this as preparation for our life together! Thank you for creating such a thorough course. - Harriet
I found this course very useful in exploring ideas that would not otherwise have occurred to me to discuss with my fiancée. We were able to tackle some quite complex topics and I feel that we have grown closer together as a result. There has also been an improvement in our ability to communicate. The final PDF’s (Anniversary and Conversation Dates) will be useful handrails for our future together as and when we need to discuss issues. I would recommend other couples taking an hour or so each week to work through each conversation at a time. I look forward to our marriage and life together! - Seb

William and Betty
California / Roman Catholic Course
Father Frank, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the well thought out preparation for marriage course. I can confidently state that I was blessed to find a program that I truly believe helped us prepare for our upcoming marriage. I really wasn't sure if this type of program was going to benefit us in our journey, but I can freely admit to being mistaken. I especially enjoyed the preparing for the wedding and the rules for resolving conflict sections. We look forward to incorporating the weekly conversation and Anniversary sections as we move forward on our lives together. Thank you again. - William
Father Frank, in reviewing my experience with my completion of this program, I have reflected a lot on my previous religious education when I completed my First Communion and Confirmation. It allowed me to reflect on not only that but also the traditional teachings when attending mass with my parents as I was growing up. It has brought a renewed purpose in continuing, cherishing, and reflecting on my participation in mass. This wedding preparation course allowed us to increase our level of communication and understanding of each other in the Christian faith. I especially appreciated and valued the "before the wedding" section of the course. It allowed my fiancé and I to begin to communicate about all of the upcoming planning of our wedding. With much appreciation. - Betty

Anna and Jin
Vietnam / Roman Catholic Course
I finished the doctrine of marriage and also got my certificate in Vietnam. However, learning online again and answering questions in PDF form like some exercises for me to look at myself and better understand our love and issues. It made me understand better that family is about understanding and sharing responsibilities and not just romance like pink love. I understand and thank my parents for giving birth to me and educating me about faith in God and human personality. They are my best role models for building a family. I know how to run to our God more (in happy times as well as in difficult times), I pray more to our God and I know how to pray more and thank God for what he has given me. - Anna
The online course was very informational. I never expected an online marriage course to be this comprehensive. Although it’s not as long as a live class, it did require quite a bit of critical thinking especially when it comes to the questions corresponding to each exercise PDF. I enjoyed listing out my love and affection for Anna. I feel that by listing out our thoughts, we will be more prepared for future obstacles. When the marriage and family think as a whole, along with God’s blessings, nothing can stand in our way. - Jin

Thi and Duy
Canada/Vietnam / Roman Catholic Course
Dear Reverend Frank, first of all, I would like to share that I and my boyfriend have a long-distance love. I live in Canada and he lives in Vietnam. We have been in love for 3 years, and it was a little bit harder when I studied the Marriage Catholic Course alone online, and he studied his Marriage Course alone in Vietnam.
His English is not good enough to study this course in English like me, so he studied in Vietnamese. But when we studied, both of us always thought about the other and shared what we learned with each other.
I really enjoyed this course. We have had a lot of conflict and problems that we felt were so hard to deal with, but during this course we learned that the most important thing for our love is to have respect for each other. Before this I was an easy person to get angry at my boyfriend and always force him to deal with problems right away. I always expected him to be patient with me and listen to me more than what I would do for him. But during this course I have learned what steps I should take when we have a conflict. Additionally, I have learned how to express myself by listening to him and showing him the way how I respect him and our relationship. Thank you so much for your course and hope the best for you. - Thi and Duy

Joseph and Cecelia
Oklahoma / Roman Catholic Course
Dear Reverend Frank, first of all, my wife and I both want to tell you how informative your course was, and how much it would help younger folks prior to getting married. A little background on our situation, my wife, Cece and I were married in 2016. I have recently been granted an annulment from the church because my wife and I wish to have our marriage blessed by the church. In order to do this, we found out we needed to take a pre-Cana course which could be done online. We picked your course and have enjoyed it. - Joseph
Thank you so much for your very informative class. This was good and I can see parts of it being used at marriage retreats as well. Being second marriages for both of us, we have learned things not to do. We spent much time talking about the pluses and minuses of our marriages and what we expected in this one. In these past 6 years, we have made a point to keeping our communication open with each other. Thank you for your class and for the videos. - Cecelia

Clay and Sierra
Texas / Christian (Non-Denominational) Course
I liked most of the questions that were asked as they required some thought. It made me more open minded to my feelings and where I truly stood. It will help me ask those tougher questions in the future knowing just how important it is to do so. It also made me realize there’s a lot more to marriage than just saying I do. I truly enjoyed this experience. - Clay
This was a great course for us. Not only was it Christian based but it also just helped us learn a lot about communication, something that is sometimes hard for us to do face to face and ask those hard questions. We really enjoyed the questions and the fact that it wasn’t just an 8-hour video to watch made it so much more enjoyable. Doing these exercises also reminded us why we are doing this. - Sierra

Amanda and Chris
Texas / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
Thank you for the online course! We really enjoyed taking this online class! While Amanda and I have been together over 5 years (and I was skeptical at the idea of taking a pre-marriage course), I feel like we learned a lot! In particular, the love life, leisure/work, and money sections were the most beneficial to me. These questions required us to examine our relationship in a new light and consider ideas we had never thought of. I'd absolutely recommend this course to anyone before they get married! – Amanda and Chris

Francy and Jan

I am very grateful God directed me toward your course. Thank you so very much Rev. Frank for making this available. The course brought out and compiled so many of the conversations Francy and I have had during our relationship and made us reflect on our marriage and God. We came out so very much reassured of our love and decision to marry. I couldn’t imagine a more rewarding experience, and I had no idea how important this was. Thank you! - Jan
We really enjoyed this course. It gave us the opportunity to do it at our own pace. We were able to enter into the deepest corners of ourselves and get to know more about our childhood, families, and relationships. The guided talk points were very focus-oriented and the whole course was guided in every single step. It was easy to follow, and we were able to complete it with a lot of enthusiasm. This really prepares us for a future married life, and it touches on the most relevant topics married people could experience. I definitely would recommend this course to all my friends, even to the couples that are not engaged yet. It opened our minds and made us think about our relationship from many different perspectives. The course went above and beyond our expectations and it was really well designed. - Francy

Ashley and Michael
Florida / Christian (Non-Denominational) Course
This course was very educational and interesting. I loved how interactive it was even though it was completed online. I felt this course really had some nice topics of conversations that are essential for a successful marriage. The topics opened us up to be more vulnerable and attentive. I even felt emotional as we were going through each session. Especially the one with our parents. I know they aren't perfect, and my parents did the best they could. I just hope that we can learn from them and do an even better job for our future children. The money topic was very important as well. We were able to discuss a good budget to help us save money while still being able to pay off debts. I am optimistic about our future together. Thank you so much for the convenience and opportunity to go through such an intense but necessary course before saying I do. - Ashley
I think the course was thought provoking on a lot of important topics for going into a marriage. It allowed us to explore some issues that may arise and allowed us to discuss how we would handle it. I like the faith-based aspects of the course that we took (regarding the prayer and associated scripture) as the two of us are in agreement on this matter. The course was simple but provided a lot of important information that can help us on the road in our marriage. - Michael

Kenneth and Jessica
Texas / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
I want to thank you for this course as it's really allowed us to get even closer and ask a lot of questions that otherwise may not have been discussed. We have had some struggles getting over conflict, so the issues chapter certainly helped us. I've realized I need to truly give her space when she gets heated and come back and continue the conversation another day versus continuing to push her until she falls over the ledge. I believe this was very helpful and we are both firm believers in counseling and having sessions such as these from time to time to truly 'bring us back to earth' if that makes sense. I also loved the fact that it opened up so many new topics and discussions that we haven't necessarily brought up before. As far as helpful - absolutely, and would this be something I recommend to folks in the future? Absolutely, so thank you! - Kenneth
I didn't know what to expect before we started the course and initially thought that it wouldn't be the best use of our time since we already see eye to eye on every topic, but I was pleasantly surprised. I loved the guided conversations and new perspectives. Being able to have these conversations on a deeper level before our wedding day makes me even more sure I found my husband. Thank you for everything! - Jessica

Samantha and Stewart
Florida / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
Our experience thus far has been rewarding. I’m usually the communicator in our relationship; however, this course and the way it asks questions has made it easier for my fiancé to share his thoughts, love, and feelings I never knew he had, and we’re just getting started. I already love him, but this course seems to be growing that love even more. The most enjoyable part has been hearing my fiancés thoughts and feelings that I might have never known had we not taken the course. The course has been helpful in more ways than one, my favorite is we both enjoy it and are excited to share our answers with each other and look forward to the next set of questions to encourage us to communicate. I would 100% recommend other couples to take this course just to see how much you really understand their partner, their needs, wants and expectations prior to marriage. We are committed to completing the course and have agreed to retake it every 5 years to see how our answers may change. - Samantha
The Online Marriage Preparation course was great. My soon to be wife and I had a great time, truly expressing our feelings, wants and how we have changed for each other. The course was a lot of fun and really made us want to keep going to the next part and exciting to hear what one another's feelings were for each other. I would really recommend this course for all. It definitely helps you talk and learn things about each other that sometimes wouldn't be said. We have already talked about sitting down in five years and doing it again. It’s great bonding time that I feel most couples tend to forget or are too busy to do, but I feel it’s a must for a successful marriage. - Stewart

Darchelle and John
Florida / Roman Catholic Course
I thank you very much for putting this course together. It was an opportunity for us to ask each other questions that we never thought of. Through the questionnaires, I have learned so much from John. Things that I would never have thought to ask him about. This course will help me understand him better, it will help us resolve issues much quicker than before. - Darchelle
I am very grateful for the opportunity to take this course. Now I have a better understanding on how to interact with Darchelle. This course has allowed her to open up herself better to me. We have strengthened our bond and are now ready to face our issues together as a couple. I truly hope that more couples could have the opportunity to go through this course, it would certainly reduce the number of separated couples in the country. - John

The online marriage preparation course that we completed was incredible. Once we both started on the journey, we were very excited to get through it so that we could have many of these conversations prior to being married. Through the course, we both feel like we have formed a stronger, more intimate bond since we now have a better understanding of each other. Thank you for putting this course together! It has really helped to set us up for success in our marriage!! - Andy
This course has been amazingly helpful and well structured! During our relationship, we talked about many important topics, but this course guided us to dive deep into each one. There are a lot of good and tough questions in each topic, especially children and faith. They pushed us to give more thoughts and share these thoughts with each other. We also realized that we have more differences than we thought and will learn to embrace these differences. We now know and understand not only each other but also ourselves at deeper level, hence strengthening our bond and deepening our love. This course also gave us an opportunity to prepare for the wedding beyond some details such as invitation cards, decorations, and reception meals. It drew us back to the main purpose of a wedding, it is about us, our love for one another, our unity in God and our life after this day! Thank you for such an amazing course! I will recommend it to any engaged couples and share our experiences during the course. - Hang

I enjoyed this course because it was a pleasant surprise of reflection and diving more deeply into conversations we had not initially dove very far into! It was a nice reminder of good communication right prior to our wedding. I felt like the videos were easy to watch and concise, while the questions really made you think. I look forward to utilizing some of these thought processes for my vows and reflecting upon this information in the future! - Kelsi
I would recommend this course to all couples, whether engaged or even already married. The course is concise but touches on a wide range of important topics that are crucial for couples to communicate about. It keeps the important things in perspective. I look forward to looking back at our responses in the upcoming years to see how much progress we have made, as well as which subjects still need work! - Chet

This was an extremely helpful process for our marriage and partnership. We learned and discussed things about us that we had not thought to address. We now have a better understanding about what will make us a better couple. It was a very beneficial course. We enjoyed the openness that it brought about, and we had some fun in the process! - Michael
As a young person without any experience on long-term relationships, this course was highly beneficial. I learned how to manage a relationship, how to form a bond, and what the milestones of a good marriage are. I enjoyed taking it with my fiancé since I learned about his personality, his way of seeing life, and his expectations in our future marriage. I think this was the beginning of a long, fruitful journey as it brought us closer together and it made us understand what this kind of bond is really about. Without this course we would have faced issues and would have had many difficulties that we now know how to properly address. I am glad we took it. - Lisbette

I wasn't sure what to expect with this course, but I was pleasantly surprised with how helpful it was! I really enjoyed the "Before We Say I Do" module, and I really enjoyed the "Faith, Core Value and Beliefs" and the "Our Wedding Day" module as I have done all of our wedding planning. I think for other couples, especially those that haven't lived together before, this would be an especially helpful course! I would say to them that I wasn't even planning on doing any sort of counseling, but I'm thankful that I was able to squeeze this course in because not only was it helpful and needed to have these conversations, but it was actually fun to reflect on myself and learn a little bit more about my partner! I am really looking forward to using the "Conversation Dates" worksheet as we implement our weekly date nights! Thank you again! – Victoria
We found the experience to be useful and productive. With the stress of planning the wedding from far away as we are living in a different state now, this was a nice way for us to come together and affirm our feelings and promises to each other. It showed me that Tore and I have a very healthy relationship, because we have spent lots of time talking about pretty much all of this stuff already and are on the same page or confirmed our feelings about these things to each other. I would recommend this course to other couples because it will either 1) show them that they are making the right choice and are prepared to marry each other or 2) open up important conversations that they may not have had but that they need to have before getting married. Thank you for putting this course together! - Andy

Joyce and Rudy
Texas / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
This was truly an amazing experience. I hadn't done marriage counseling before getting married, but I am glad we found your course. We talked to each other in depth with every question, staying up to 1 or 2 o'clock in the morning not realizing time had passed. We answered questions about our families and past that neither of us had wanted to answer. I wasn't a believer before, but the simplicity of the course made this so easy and enjoyable. I definitely learned more about Rudy, even though I thought I knew him so well already. Would do this again in a heartbeat. - Joyce
I have to say I was shocked at the content within this marriage counseling. I had done marriage counseling in the past, but it did not force the types of conversations that this one did. So many of the conversations you asked us to perform are absolutely critical to understanding where we are each coming from. What in our past has made up who we are today. While we knew a lot of the things discussed about each other, we didn't know the depth to it all. And as your conversations pushed us into the depths, we grew closer through the process. I valued the conversations about family as well as about our sexual/romance life because I feel these two areas are incredibly important to me and historically, I have not voiced my opinions and/or feelings about these subjects. With Joyce, I catch myself being very open and these conversations fueled that openness even more. Thank you so much for the guidance you built into this counseling! - Rudy

Thank you so much for making this online marriage preparation course widely available and accessible to all. I thought the Issues session was the most helpful, and I hope to be able to use that template in the future to discuss any issues that are bothering me. I felt so much lighter and freer afterwards, not weighed down by my worries that I hadn’t had the courage to voice aloud to my partner yet out. Even though the issue isn’t fully resolved, I felt so much better just to talk about it openly and lay to rest some of my fears about how I thought my partner felt about it, which weren’t even true. Now I see how everything in a marriage really is about communication, like you said at the beginning of the course! I also enjoyed getting to learn more about my partner on topics we hadn’t discussed yet explicitly, such as money, our parents and childhoods. I was blown away when my partner wrote some really sweet things that we can use in our wedding vows during the ceremony. I would highly recommend this course to friends and tell them that even though it might seem unnecessary at first (like it did to us), it was truly helpful and set the stage well for a strong marriage moving forward. - Jessica
I believe the course was very informative. While we often contemplate how we’ll act in certain situations, writing them out and sharing our intimate thoughts with each other provided more structure, room to grow and learn, and a deeper fondness for each other. I now feel closer to my bride to be because we are now more intimately familiar with each other’s emotions, wants, and desires. While I cannot say that this program has created a definite positive change moving forward, it has armed us with better tools to deal with the problems and issues that may arise in our relationship. We are still not perfect people and our relationship is not perfect, but Dr. Rev. Frank has helped us to grow as couple and build a stronger bond. - Michael

This course was so beneficial to our relationship. There are so many things included in the course that we have never talked about or having talked about in years. Another great feature of the course is that we could complete the course at our own pace and when it was most convenient for us. Thank you for this incredible experience. - Tessa
I believe this course provided healthy and positive discussions. There were topics that we don't talk about on a daily basis which led to some powerful thoughts and emotions. A topic that I enjoyed and learned a lot from was "doing my part". That discussion taught me what I can do to be the best possible partner to be for my soon wife. I would like to thank you for providing us with the reading and videos. I can confidently say that this had a positive impact on us. - Austin

We are more understanding of each other on how marriage works. We were able to speak more about the future. We also realized a few things we can change in the near future to be better than we were before. The best part of this whole course is feeling a lot more ready and happy to be marrying the women that owns my heart forever. - Kevin
The course is a fun thing to do before getting married. I feel like the course brought us a lot closer than before. I feel as if we talked more about our future. It helped us as a couple to understand the full meaning of marriage. There's so much more when it comes to committing to each other, and this course helped us understand that. I want to begin by saying this course was extremely eye opening. We discussed topics we’ve never discussed before and learned so much about one another. We shared laughs, we got emotional, and this made us closer together. I am very thankful to have found this course, I was very stressed out, but you made the entire process so easy for us. - Lianny
First going into this I didn’t really know what to expect. I was somewhat upset that we had to do this so last minute, but after this experience I am thankful we did this. This was very eye opening. Not only did I learn things about my future wife, but I learned a lot about myself. I am also happy to see my fiancé stress free. - Ryan

Upon taking this class, I did not expect to learn so much more from my significant other that I did not know before. I felt that while taking the class, it helped us as a couple to connect more deeply and intimately with each other and to have a much better understanding of one another. Our goals in life as husband and wife have become clearer as we worked together to set a goal for our future as husband and wife. I enjoyed learning what my significant other values in life and how he views his beliefs and practices. I admire him so much as the person he is. This course was very helpful as I feel like it has improved our bond significantly. What I might say to other couples is that I would encourage them to take the class as by doing so, it has improved our happiness as a couple tremendously then we already were before taking this class. - Tram
After taking this class, I understand the values of being a good husband to my wife and to always work things out no matter how difficult the situation may seem. It has taught me to love and cherish her as my partner in life. I admire her goals and aspirations in life and am honored that she has chosen me to walk this path of life with her. I enjoyed taking this class with my partner because I learned so much. To listen and compensate to where we both agree will always improve our communication together as husband and wife. I have learned many life lessons and will apply my learnings to our lifestyle together. This course was very helpful in connecting me and my partner together as one. I feel as though after completing this course, we have a much better understanding of each other and that our bond with God is spiritually greater than it has ever been. What I might say to other couples is that I would recommend them to take the class because it has made me look at life in a different way. A greater way. - Phu

We have heard our friends say they’ve done pre-marital courses but was not able to finish them and friends that wanted to but didn’t have the time to. It took a while to search for a pre-marital course. We didn’t know if we wanted to do in-person because of the time that we would have to take to go to location. With our busy schedules we decided online would be best. I found onlinemarriagepreparation.com and decided to give it a try based on the reviews and the options for a Christian-based course. It has been a blessing to us to have found such a well put together course that has helped us grow together. We got our course in July with a wedding date of October 1, 2022, and it has been great to have this be a part of our busy schedules. From the very first conversation we knew this is something we want to continue in our marriage, so we are so happy that this is set up for us to revisit our marriage in one year. This course is perfect for people with busy work schedules like us. We were able to get this done in the mornings, and Sunday evenings lounging on the couch. Some of the questions and discussions brought out a lot of emotions for me and it helped brought us closer together not only to each other but most importantly to God. - Nhi
Well thought out and thorough are the first words that come to mind when trying to describe this course. My fiancé and I completed the Christian non-denominational marriage course and we couldn’t be more satisfied. Mainly what we realized was that we have very good communication skills already, however we still were able to clear up some things that I didn’t realize we need to go more in depth with. I highly recommend anyone to give this course a try, plus the Couple Check-Up is a must! Thank you, Rev. Frank and your team, for making this online course possible. - Rene

I found this course very lengthy but once you get on a roll, it's not too bad. I did enjoy doing this together as a couple because I was able to learn more about my fiance. The topics were very good discussions and I think it's important that every couple does a course like this before they get married. My only tip would be to make a schedule when you want to work on each topic. - Ewa
I liked the course and thought it was a good way to see into your partner's brain a little deeper. We spread the course out over a few weeks due to the amount of work it required. If you have a busy schedule like we do, then this is a good option for you. - Todd

I really appreciated the flexibility and privacy that this online course provided. Going through the conversations together, step-by-step, and guided by Rev. Frank, felt very personal. I really liked his videos and his calm and positive demeanor. The conversations and the topics allowed us to learn even more about us as individuals and as a couple, and I particularly learned a lot from the "Issues" conversation. Very insightful. I would definitely recommend this preparation course to other couples. - Zuleyma
I thought the course was easy to follow and the topics very appropriate for our personal growth. We enjoyed sharing our answers with each other and learning more about deeper topics we may not discuss all the time. - Fausto
Mike and Anastasia
Florida / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
As a Nuclear Engineer, I do not often delve into the emotional side of things, so it is refreshing to be "forced" into verbally expressing feelings that are sometimes buried within. A pretty powerful shared four (4) hours together that really puts some focus on what we are about to enter into. No shockers in Anastasia's response, but always good to hear how aligned we truly are, and I believe are well-positioned for a wonderful life together! One of our biggest assets, but also biggest challenges is that we are both type-A personalities, so very important for us to understand each other and keep it front and center that "us" is more important than "I" and work hard to pause during those trying moments to better listen and not quickly, harshly respond. All of the wonderful traits are there - we just have to keep the focus on that, not the distractors. Once again, not my wheelhouse of expertise (emotions), but appreciative of having these quick conversations on topics that could present challenges for us. - Mike
I think the course is very fulfilling and comprehensive. There are so many different angles, and the questions are touching almost every aspect of a couple's life, from parents to kids to work commitments to most importantly, commitment to one another. Some of the questions were pretty general for our situation, but some of the questions I found to be "tear jerkers". Even though I believe I do know Mike very well, living with him for ~5 years, it's still good to hear the things that he answers to each and every question, reaffirming what I believe about us and him, as my chosen one. I would highly recommend to every couple regardless of whether they are obligated to take the course or not. It is a great tool for a couple to learn about one another. - Anastasia

Thank you for creating this course for future spouses. We enjoyed each time we came together to do our counseling. We learned new things about each other and gained a new understanding of our family history and we found this time together very intimate. There were a lot of thought-provoking conversations, and we are looking forward to our vows, children and building our life together. We have an amazing experience through this Faith and scripture-based course. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom with us. God Bless, Kayla
The Online Marriage Preparation course was so eye opening! My fiancé and I made every session a date night where we could have deep, intimate conversations. We always prayed before every session and invited the Holy Spirit to invade the space and our hearts. We enjoyed all the guided conversations! They helped us dive deep on topics that we believe every couple should discuss before marriage. Through the process, the Holy Spirit even highlighted things that we thought were important to discuss that may have not been in the course. If you are living far away from each other or you don’t have as much time to get through a 7–11-week premarital course offered by a local Church, we highly recommend Rev. Dr. Frank Nelson’s course! - Antonio

I enjoyed the ability to go at my own pace for this course as well as the questions as it helped bring good memories as well as brought thoughtful discussions. I would tell other couples to take this seriously as there are strong questions that will get you talking about things you may not have thought of before. - Matt
I found the course enjoyable as it was very easily understood and there were no “gotcha” questions. It just brought up good conversation and helped us identify something we need to work on in time management as a couple. My recommendation for other couples would be to really stick with this and see it through. If you have a problem putting some things into words this will help with that. - Shelby

This course really helped us realize how in tune we were in some areas and how we still needed to have discussion in others. I also loved that it reminded us why we wanted to get married in the first place and forced us to verbalize our thoughts and feelings for each other. We're currently long distance and the format made it very easy for us to both complete our documents and come together to discuss them. I'd recommend this course to others looking for premarital counseling! - Caitlin
This course was very interesting. While Caitlin and I have discussed many of these topics before, there were some scenarios that we had not discussed, and I have no doubt that thinking about them ahead of time will be beneficial for our relationship. I would recommend this course to anyone. - Sam

Our work in this marriage preparation course was an enriching experience. It provided us with thought-provoking conversations which boosted my confidence ahead of our marriage. It felt natural and emphasized being in this together. I believe that we now have a clearer picture of what our goals are for a shared life together as husband and wife. - Ben
We loved this marriage preparation course. As a couple, we already know we share a lot of the same values and goals but having purposeful, in-depth discussions about it made us grow together on a deeper level, really solidifying that we have a united vision and will continue being a great team. We enjoyed carving out the time to sit together, hold hands, and talk about the past, present, and future in the context of our marriage and everything that is entails. It has made us a stronger couple going into marriage and has given us new tools to continue healthy communication and partnership. - Marisol

Merrill and Steve
Minnesota / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
I enjoyed carving time out of our busy schedules to sit and really think through the reasons I am fortunate to be with and love and be loved by Steve and to think through and address issues that we will face as a married couple. Even more, I enjoyed sitting down with Steve to share my answers with him and hear his responses. The extra time this allowed us to have as a couple without other distractions is time I will cherish.
The modules addressing money, doing my part, children, and addressing issues were particularly helpful. Although we have talked about all these things previously, it was good to have direct questions and answers on these important topics to confirm we are on the same page and have open discussion on these topics. The resolving issues modules provides a good step-by-step process to addressing conflicts that may arise and we can use the tool of both coming up with ways to address the conflict that work for both of us. The entire course was very convenient to be able to do on our own time and in our own home. Thank you. - Merrill
Having time set aside for these conversations was really nice. While our lives are super busy, having distraction free time to remind ourselves why and how much we love each other meant a lot to both of us. The conversations covered a wide range of topics and reminded me why I’m choosing to spend the rest of my life with Merrill. I'd recommend other couples use the course as an opportunity to reinforce many of the things they've already talked about before. - Steve

My fiance and I really enjoyed your online marriage preparation course. We really liked the flexibility of the online feature as my work schedule is very intensive, which doesn't allow me much time for an in-person course. We liked that the guided conversations go over all the pertinent and necessary topics that we believe all couples need to discuss prior to marriage. We definitely recommend the course! Thank you! We will send you via a separate email all of our replies/conversations for you to review. Have a great day! – Tina
There were some very difficult conversations that were very necessary. We definitely recommend your course to our friends and family who will be getting married. I like the flexibility it had with our schedule. It was a great course! Thank You. - Raytcho

What I thought was helpful were the important topics that the course got us to think about and discuss that would be important topics to consider in our future life together. It was nice to get a chance to think through the different aspects of these topics through the prompting questions and be able to discuss them before marriage. What I thought was enjoyable was practicing communicating on important topics after having a chance to prepare our own thoughts first. This will help us prepare for marriage by practicing important communication skills, including how to be a better listener and essentially a good spouse. - Carmelle
What was helpful for me was the structure and order of the topics that we discussed, as well as the different aspects of the issues the questions made us think about. What I enjoyed were the conversations that we had during the course. Sometimes having really busy lives, it's hard to find the time to really have a conversation with your partner. I think this will help us in the future to remind ourselves that we need to take time to talk to each other and really listen to what the other is saying. The course also made me realize there are some communication skills that I should try to improve which will help me with our relationship moving forward. - Tim

Tia and Troy
Minnesota / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
I really enjoyed taking this course with my fiancé, I feel like we were able to become closer and really connect from the discussions we had to complete. I think the one discussion that was most beneficial us was the “Issues” discussion and how we plan to work through our issues going forward. I would 100% recommended this course to any couples getting married. You are able to complete the course in your own time frame and in the convenience of your own home or wherever you decide to have your discussions. - Tia
It was good to see how both parties answer questions about what love is and what we see in our future. I liked that my fiancé and I had a lot of similar responses for what we think love is being kind to others and what we want to get out of having a family. It is a good course for couples to do in order to talk about things that they want or need from the other person. I don't have any complaints on the course, it was long enough but not super long where you did not feel overwhelmed. I also think it is something that couples could complete in a weekend if they needed to be done faster. - Troy

I really enjoyed this online marriage preparation. The course gave both of us the opportunity to reevaluate our lives and what we have accomplished as a couple. The course also brought us tears by reflecting on how fortunate we are to have found each other. We also realize how compatible we are for each other. This course pinpointed the importance of our lives with our past, present, and future. It also included details where we both reflected on how we can change for the better and to help each other grow, not on our own, but also with God by our side. I would personally recommend this course to couples interested in connecting with each other personally. - Sandra
I enjoyed the course. I felt that it brought us closer together and reminded us that we are making a promise to each other, but God as well. I would recommend this course because it helps with preparing for marriage, the future, and helps you see how compatible you are with each other. I felt that it brought out a lot of good emotions between us and helped us reflect over our relationship in good ways that is helpful down the road. I recommend this to couples who want to see if they are ready for the full commitment to each other and God. - Adan

I want to take the time to thank you for the laughs and joy between my fiancée and I during the conversations and discussions. You opened my mind to topics that I never thought about when going into a marriage. My fiancée and I have been together for 3 years and we have been through a lot. We have learned our own ways of getting through our issues and some things were never talked about or discussed that bothered us or even considered from the other person. During this course, I have learned to be an empty bucket without judgement and hear him out, even when he is just rambling on. I have learned that sometimes the things that I want is not what he wants and that’s okay as long as we compromise. I have also learned to love each other WITHOUT conditions because we are all we’ve got. I am so honored to have taken the time to learn from you and your methods and I will refer this course to all my newly engaged friends. Thank you again for your wisdom and blessing this union. - Jasmine
This online marriage preparation course helped us in so many ways! It was very well thought out and helped us discuss topics even deeper than we had before. The best part was the details in every aspect of marriage together that were brought up for us to discuss. It allowed us to really pinpoint the thing we want together in our marriage and in our family. Even if you feel you and your partner are the most compatible and on the same page, this course will force you to dig deeper and talk about just what you guys see and plan for your future and I encourage anyone to take Reverend Frank Nelson’s Online Marriage Preparation Course! - Travion

Justine and Tom
California / Roman Catholic Course
I had a great experience working on this marriage preparation class with my partner, Tom. I feel like we had an opportunity to get to know each other more. We were able to discuss topics that we normally would not talk about. I think that we were able to open up to each other about the concerns that we individually have, and we were able to discuss our feelings and come out with resolutions about them. I think that this has been a very helpful tool for us and that this exercise will guide us to a better path in marriage. - Justine
This has not only been an enjoyable activity, but it has also been an eye-opening experience for us as a couple who are both heading into a lifetime journey of marriage and commitment. We were able to discuss sensitive topics that we normally do not speak about because some of the topics are culturally not typically discussed in our families. Getting to know about our different perspectives on certain situations made me understand and accept her more as an individual and my life partner. I believe that we both found this activity helpful and advantageous for the growth of our relationship as we furthermore devote ourselves to each other under the sanctity of marriage with God as our witness and guide. - Tom

I feel as though God led Derek and me to this course so that we might be able to start this new chapter in our lives with a truly fresh beginning. I am so thankful to God that we were led to your particular course out of the dozens of choices that we had. The course about our parents was so eye-opening and, in many ways, therapeutic for the two of us. I am so excited about our next 'conversation date'. I am so grateful that I will always have these talking points to turn back to when things don't seem as rosy and apply them to create an everlasting marriage with Derek. - Christina
Dear Rev. Frank, I want to thank you for your services. I want to say that if this course was available to everyone before marriage it might lower the margin of divorce. The course really made me realize what I must work on to make my marriage work. I am glad we came across your course. I will continue to use the tools I have gained and the knowledge to get closer to God and to have a fruitful relationship with my soon-to-be spouse and God. - Derek

Nate and Katie
New York / Roman Catholic Course
The course provided a valuable framework to discuss the significant topics related to relationships and marriage. It was interesting to see the number of conversations that we had already prior to this course, but to have a structured discussion around it to make sure we were completely transparent with each other was important. I'd recommend this course to other couples who are planning on getting married as it is easy to get caught up in wedding planning and this course is an excellent tool to take a step back and focus on the most important aspects of how to set yourselves up for a successful marriage. - Nate
This course was really helpful for us, and we've shared this feedback with our friends and family as well. The discussions covered a variety of topics and allowed us an opportunity to connect more deeply. We found that a number of topics were already things we've discussed, but there were a few that also brought new ideas to light. We also noticed that our answers were often the same, but in scenarios where they weren't, we still agreed with what the other had written. As Nate said, we're ready to just be married now! – Katie

I recommend this marriage preparation course to anyone getting married or wishing to stay connected with their partner after marriage. Life is busy and day-to-day priorities can easily take all of the attention and focus away from one's relationship. This course, however, provides you with opportunities to check in with each other and really helps you and your partner understand how each other truly feels about different aspects of the relationship. You are able to see where your strengths are and where more communication is needed to strengthen other areas of your relationship. We completed the self-guided course which was easy to use and provided the flexibility we needed for our schedules. Thank you, Rev. Frank, for your guidance through this process. – Jaime and Gilles

Dr. Nelson, it is both of our opinions that this course has already made us closer than before, and we have you to thank for it. We thoroughly enjoyed the assignments, as well as the short videos you have posted. We are blessed to share such an amazing experience led by you and are very happy to have gone through each step. It felt like we walked through a journey of many emotions while we both sat and talked through the steps. We truly appreciate this course and a chance to look at our lives and share how we feel about each other in a format like this. We are glad to have gone through this with a newly engaged couple and hope that others find it just as helpful as we did. - Lalit & Siri

The course was helpful because it provided a clear framework and insight question prompts to start important conversations. Several of the prompts were thought provoking, and they encouraged us to think about and share about new ideas, perspectives, and experiences that we hadn’t shared with each other yet. It was enjoyable because it was well balanced with prompts that encouraged us to express gratitude and share reasons why we love each other and what we are looking forward to. It was always fun to tell and to hear these answers during the conversation. This contributed to our preparation by helping us ensure all our bases were covered for the most important topics and gave us validation that we have a solid relationship and are ready to move forward with getting married! - Jamie
The course was very helpful. It started off very easy and fun and it really helped us to soak in the joy and happiness we have as we thought about our relationship and getting married. The next set of conversations were thought provoking and challenging at times, which means they were doing their job in getting us to surface things and to talk through them together. Having the clear instructions and the ritual (we lighted a candle every time we had a conversation) helped us to get through the difficult conversations. I felt pretty prepared prior to the course, but I feel even more so after the course. And I'm really looking forward to the post ceremony conversation and the anniversary conversations! We also enjoyed the additional couple checkup assessment! - Charles

Michael and Anuska
Texas / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
This course was great and very valuable. Since we are not a young couple, we are more comfortable having the conversations that make others uncomfortable, yet we were still able to get a lot out of the structured conversations. Also, having been married before we were already a bit ahead of the game and had discussed many of these topics beforehand. I appreciated the "forced" opportunity to openly address these issues again to ensure that we were still on the same page and not make any assumptions. We are both stand-up comedians, so we are pretty open with our feelings and don't find many topics taboo, while at the same time we are able to receive feedback without finding it devastating. We both definitely see the value in these conversations and highly recommend this course to anyone about to enter marriage. Too often, couple will make assumptions or "punt" their problems or concerns and hope to not deal with the, We have both learned from our previous marriages and relationships that you cannot exists happily by living that way. We invested a lot in candles these past few weeks and had some very productive conversations. We owe that to your course. We will certainly recommend your course to others. I think it will be highly beneficial for anyone!! We both give it 5 stars out of Five!!! - Michael
I liked the course. It got more fun with each conversation. I believe this kind of course would be a great and helpful tool in every marriage even after the wedding. Thank you for doing the work and supporting couples all over the world. Best wishes. - Anuska

I have absolutely loved this marriage counseling! It was very enjoyable! The questions were very good at getting us talking and thinking. I loved that it was complete at your own pace and online it is very helpful for couples with busy schedules! I would tell other couples that this marriage counseling is great for busy couples! It really goes through great topics that are maybe not thought of as being important to discuss! It was absolutely fantastic! - Aletheia and Joseph

I am really grateful that I was able to take this course with my husband. It gave us an opportunity to sit back and contemplate our experiences, deepest feelings and any thoughts that we may not have shared with each other. It was a great opportunity to strengthen the foundation for our marriage, our happiness together, and our life as unity. As a non-Catholic, I never expected the course to made such an immense impact on me. I have told people I know who are also non-Catholic about the usefulness of the course too. The course was really enjoyable to me. Many times I felt as if I was questioning myself and then looking at myself in the mirror answering the questions. The course allowed me to ask and answer myself important questions that I should have but never did ask myself in the past. I really like that the course was fully remote, so time was not restricted, we did not feel rushed, and we could work on it whenever we have time. Such flexibility, I believe, also helped increase the benefits of the course. I would recommend other couples to take this course by Father Frank. I strongly believe the course will lay strong foundation for their future happiness and life together as a married couple. - Tran
I am taking ROMAN CATHOLIC ECOURSE in order to prepare for our marriage in a Catholic Church. I found the course from Father Frank to be very useful. My wife and I had some deep conversations regarding our marriage life by answering the course questions. I thought the questions are very well designed and structured. The thing I liked most about this course is that it’s completely remote and we can answer questions whenever we have time and also, we can take some time to think about some of the questions. I didn’t feel any time pressure because I could take the course in my own pace. Father Frank is very communicative, and he is also prompt in responding to our question. I would recommend this course to any couple that are looking for an online course to complete their Catholic Marriage requirement. The course is well worth the money according to my experience. - Nahn

About my experience it was a good experience for us, we were talking with each other about all of life's important aspects. It deepened our love for one another as we were journaling and reviewing our answers, we had a lot of fun with it! - Marianna
The experience of the online marriage prep was interesting. I believe these are all questions couples should review and know about one another before even thinking of engaging their proposal for marriage. However, it is great to give this to couples who would be getting married due to ensuring they have reviewed all of the important life events and expectations. My fiancé and I have lived together for over 3 years, therefore for us a lot of it was things that we knew about each other. However, it was a great experience to review to ensure we are still on the same page. - Piotr

This course was a great way for my fiance and I to connect and talk about the things that really matter. I got caught up in the minutiae and stress of planning a wedding and needed to re-shift my focus on us as a couple and remember WHY we are getting married. These conversations were pleasant, deep and thoughtful. I firmly believe every couple should take the time to talk about topics that are described in this course before getting married, as it will set a firm foundation for the journey ahead in marriage. - Brian
I wasn’t sure what to expect when we decided to do this course. I thought it was a great course. We had great conversations throughout the process and thought it was great to be able to complete this on our own time in the privacy of our own home. It helped both of us do a little reflecting on our relationship and having these open and honest conversations help make the relationship better. I would definitely recommend to other couples looking for premarital counseling. - Toni

Dear Rev. Dr. Frank Nelson, thank you so much for creating this course. This course was so well thought out, full of meaningful conversations, and comfortable as we were able to go through this course at our own pace. What my fiance and I enjoyed the most was the opportunity to revisit and dive deeper into these conversations as we move closer to our wedding day. We had many important conversations early in our relationship, as we both wanted to ensure we were on the same page before moving forward into the commitment of marriage and through this course we were so happy to learn we are still on the same page about our future as husband and wife. Thank you so much once again and God bless you! - Jill and Joel

This course allowed us to engage in conversations we had not even thought to discuss before marriage. It has brought us closer together and further demonstrated that we are very compatible. I think sometimes we get caught up with our busy day to day, so this was a great way to slow down and reflect upon the things that are important. - Ileana A.
I enjoyed being able to get her perspective on topics we had not discussed yet. Through this course, my appreciation for my future bride grew even more. I am confident now more than ever, that we hold similar values, life journeys, and goals for our future together. Thank you Rev. Frank! - Richard M.

Myranda and Michael
Florida / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
I was unsure what to expect when signing up for the non-religious marriage preparation course, but could not be more thankful that I did. I felt that my fiance and I had talked about most topics, but this forced us to dig deeper and have conversations related to roles, familial influences, and understanding how we reached where we are today. I will definitely be printing these conversation PDFs and using them throughout our future marriage. Thank you, Reverend Frank, for providing us with the guidance and space to talk freely and learn even more about one another. - Myranda
I believe that the reflection and conversations will prove helpful in our marriage. We have had talks about many of the topics before this course, but I think it was good to review our opinions. I am grateful for this course giving us the opportunity to have conversations regarding topics that we hadn't thought about. Thank you for giving us the chance to talk freely in a comfortable and open space to learn more about each other and what our future holds. - Michael

Tami and Chris
Texas / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
This was a very eye-opening course for both of us! We did love the convenience of being able to do this in the privacy of our home, not having to involve a third party - which allowed us both to really open up to one another in the most candid and frank discussions we'd ever had. It was extremely helpful - well, the kids part wasn't that relevant, haha - but we'd both stated to one another throughout the entire process how thing may have been different when approaching marriage when we were in our teens/20's. Again, thank you so much for what you do! Awesome course on all levels. Thank you so much for your help on our marriage. God bless. - Tami and Chris

Shelsie and Dex
Texas / Christian (Non-Denominational) Course
Thank you for such a great course. My fiancé and I truly enjoyed it. From the beginning we knew we wanted to take a premarital course. I am very happy that we found one that was Christian based. We were able to reflect on various aspects of our relationship, talk about things we had not considered in the past. This has definitely been a blessing to our current relationship by bringing us even closer and has helped prepare us both mentally and emotionally for our marriage. We did not experience any trouble navigating the course. Would definitely recommend couples to take the time to connect, learn, and experience a marriage course. - Shelsie
I enjoyed going through this course with my fiancee. It definitely helped the both of us do some reflecting on our relationship. We were able to retrospectively look back at all the memories we’ve formed as well as the relationship we have established throughout the years. It helped establish how we feel towards each other and why. It also gave us insight into our future in marriage. This course involved many different aspects of relationship dynamics. Some of the important ones that I found value in were finances, family, and children. Those topics need to be explored in every relationship before marriage as they will have a tremendous impact on the experience. I think this course is very valuable and I would advise any couple to take it as it will benefit them greatly. - Dex

Emily and Adam
New Jersey / Roman Catholic Course
Writing about the various topics individually before meeting together to discuss was the most helpful part of this course. We felt as though we had talked about these things before, but the questions and prompts brought more knowledge and discussion to the surface. We got into some really awesome, deep conversations that have made us remember why we fell in love in the first place! We enjoyed talking through an important issue/decision we’ve been facing the most. It was the most in-depth conversation we have had about the issue and left us feeling better about our progress towards this big life decision. Before this, it was actually, a conversation that has been avoided because it made us both tense. After completing the course, we’ve changed for the better. We’re both more honest, patient, and open in terms of how and when we communicate about things. We feel like the communication process we learned is something we will really value and go back to when we have big decisions to make. We know how to use the tools and feel better equipped to talk through major life events and decisions as they arise. Should we have friends getting married soon, we’d certainly recommend a course like this to them. It’s extremely important that couples think and talk through these things before marriage. We are lucky that we don't have any pressing issues in our relationship, but this course was still valuable in helping us reflect on some things we haven't been talking about recently. Plus, life is full of challenges and this prep course will help us tackle new issues when they arise. We really appreciated how much you love the sacrament of marriage and how passionate you are about this. It's really uplifting to see and has made us more excited about the commitment we are making to each other! Sometimes people like to be disparaging about marriage, so it was refreshing to hear your take on things. Thank you for that. - Emily and Adam

Zharmyn and Stephen
Maryland / Roman Catholic Course
I found this course to be extremely helpful with getting through these important conversations. These are things that Stephen and I talk about a lot in passing, but haven’t gone through in a serious and deliberate matter. We both loved the template outline in the “Issues” exercise and are planning to continue using it in the future. Because of my work in healthcare, I’ve been extremely sensitive to the current state of the pandemic, and being able to complete this course from the safety of my own home was a true blessing. For any couple interested in this course I would say, take as much time as you need on these exercises. It’s easy to just go through them quickly without taking the time each conversation needs, but it will benefit you greatly if you stretch these out and give them the time they need. - Zharmyn
I found the experience quite enjoyable. These are conversations that both Zharmyn and I have been meaning to have but never had a chance to sit down and work through. I specifically really liked the “Issues” conversation, as it gave us a nice template to use when discussing further issues. Also, given the current state of the pandemic, having access to all this material online was extremely convenient. We were able to go at our own pace without having to worry about what was going on with the rest of the world. For any couple thinking about going through this course I would say do it! The pace is extremely flexible and if you go into it earnestly, it's worth the time it takes. - Stephen

Taryn and Mac
Texas / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
I am so glad we did this course! We laughed, we cried, and it definitely enhanced our weekend date nights. To be honest, I'm a little sad we finished it, but we will continue setting aside time to have these intentional conversations. My fiance is a man of few words, so hearing him express himself so openly and freely made me fall even more in love with him. I can't recommend this premarital counseling enough- It was easy to do on our time, we didn't feel rushed to complete it in a certain way or time frame, and we loved the guided conversations! Thank you so much, Rev Frank! - Taryn
When Taryn told me she wanted premarital counseling, I was NOT excited. I didn't think we needed something like that, but I was wrong. We had meaningful conversations, and a safe space to share things we might have been hesitant to share before. I really liked that it was a no-pressure environment and in our own home. These are conservations I think everyone should have before getting married, and we plan to continue making time to talk about the big stuff going forward. - Mac

David and Daniela
Florida / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
Thank you for allowing us to participate in this experience. If I am being honest, before I started I was expecting a tedious series of lectures and checkboxes. However, what came next were very thoughtful, heartfelt and powerful conversations with my future spouse: moments of crying, laughter and most importantly, closeness. This course allowed us to be more open about sensitive or delicate subjects and brought us closer than before we started. It made me realize how much I love Daniela, and how I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with her. I cannot recommend this course enough. - David
At first I felt a little bit hesitant and unsure about how these conversations would go. In my mind they seemed like conversations we had already had throughout our relationship. However, once we began writing our answers and actually having these conversations, I really enjoyed it. It felt very good to actually voice all the things I love about David to him and tell him all the things that he does to make me feel loved. It was also very nice to hear him say all those things to me. The talks on parents, love life, and money and leisure I think were also very important because sometimes we assume what the other is thinking (to avoid having an important or at times uncomfortable conversation). We were happy to realize that we were both on the same page on many aspects. I think that these conversations truly helped us improve our communication and therefore made our relationship stronger than it already is. I think it made us think more about our future together and better prepare for our marriage. After these conversations, we probably will, at a given time, complete the rest of the conversations. - Daniela

Hannah and Max

We would like to thank you for putting together such a great marriage preparation course. We found it to be a great way to really talk about what our marriage means to us and why it is such an important event in our lives. We both enjoyed the conversations and feel that they brought us even closer. We know that we will use these techniques in the future whenever we have an issue that needs to be resolved, because sitting down and having a quality conversation about it is a good way to come to a resolution. - Hannah and Max

I was a little apprehensive before starting the course, but I could not be more pleased. This course was more than I could have expected. It really required us to dip deep, and discuss things we have taken for granted all these years. We shared a few laughs and tears but I feel closer to my fiance after taking this course than ever before. I feel fully prepared for our wedding day. This course and its content has solidified my feelings and excitement about marriage. I would recommend this course to ANYONE. Friends, family and strangers alike. Thank you Rev. Dr. Nelson for being an integral part of our marriage journey. - Cora

This was a phenomenal course. Each packet stimulated conversation on difficult topics and allowed my fiance and I to discuss our values, upbringing, and issues in a healthier way. The rules of conflicts is something that we will continue to work on applying in our relationship. Thank you so much for developing this tool. - Temi
My fiancé and I are incredibly busy individuals so we appreciate how straight forward the course was. We were able to work on the topics at a sustainable pace and while doing so go to know each other on a deeper level. I would recommend that other couples not to rush through the course and take the time to ask questions that shed more light on each other’s philosophies. - Tayo

Regina and Tremell
Florida / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
Rev. Frank. First, I want to thank you for encouraging me and Tremell to take this course. It was so helpful. Having taken this course was very enjoyable. It brought me and my fiance' closer together. Questions were asked of the both of us that made us think, and made us express things that we probably took for granted that we already knew. The conversation about parents. That was especially hard for me because my parents are both deceased and it’s a touchy subject for me. My fiance made me comfortable and asked me several times if I was ok. The convenience was amazing. I work overnight hours and my clients are unpredictable so being able to do it at home in the time that I had made it very convenient. And at times very enjoyable. I would get so involved I’d forget I was at work. Plus, I’m shy so that's another reason it was convenient. I strongly suggest if you’re getting married take the time to take this course. The Rev. is very helpful and encouraging. He will help you and encourage you. On the website there were hundreds of places to take the course. I’m glad I chose the one with Rev. Frank Nelson. I hope he can continue to help us throughout our marriage. We have a bond with him. Thanks Rev. Frank Nelson - Regina
Reverend Frank Nelson, I would like to thank you for the course. It has brought Regina and I closer than we were before. I now understand her more than I have with any other woman. The questions were on point and it inspired me to aspire. The love that a man and a woman are supposed to have for each other are what we share with one another. Before all of this, I knew what love was, but wasn't fully aware of the dynamics of being in love. Thanks to your course, I and Regina have grasped what love, respect, loyalty, honor, and trust really means. We will take this time and reflect on what brought us together and keep that in our hearts. Again, thank you so very much for all that you've done for us and our family. - Tremell

Dear Rev. Dr Frank. This course has been a delightful experience for me and my fiancé. I would like to express my gratitude for having this course for us to do since it has strengthened our bond and solidified our feelings towards one another and before our special day it has really shown a lot of insight and given us much information on what marriage really is and what it’s going to take for both of us. This course is going to be with us for the entire journey of our futures so I would like to give thanks again on behalf of myself and my fiancé. - Brian and Hong

This online marriage preparation helped us so much. If you have never been married, I recommend this program. It helps you understand your partner and brings self-awareness. The course was easy to navigate. If you’re looking to get married do the online marriage preparation. You won’t regret it. - Elizabeth
The online courses were very convenient. I enjoyed answering questions and even questions I never knew existed. It helped me examine myself with my wife. I recommend this online course if you are going to get married for the first time or even if you been married before. It’s never too late to learn something new. - Abram

Danielle and Ryan
New York / Roman Catholic Course
I really enjoyed this online premarital course. Taking it online at our own pace was so nice with our busy schedules. We were able to take our time to answer the questions and had time to really talk about the different topics/conversations. A lot of the conversations were topics we probably wouldn’t have discussed on our own, so I’m glad we were forced to talk about it and be open with each other. We learned a lot about each other and said things we probably were always thinking but never actually said out loud. We verbalized our love and appreciation for one another which we already know existed but is always nice to hear. The problem-solving section was also very helpful. I will always look to “rules to resolving conflicts” in our marriage when any conflicts may arise. It really broke down what we should or shouldn’t be doing to resolve a conflict. I would recommend to any engaged couples looking to do this online and at their own pace. You’ll learn a lot and learn to appreciate and love your significant other even more. - Danielle
Danielle and I found this course very helpful in many ways. We were able to sit down, complete each subject and the questions associated with it. Then we had real conversations with each other about our responses. It was good for us both to hear what each other had to say. Some parts were funny, some were serious. We learned a great deal about each other and how we feel. The “Issues” subject allowed us to discuss a problem that is going on in our relationship. I think it’s the first time we had a intimate conversation about it. It was good for us. I believe we have a plan now. Overall, I’m thankful we found your course. This is great material for all couples getting ready for marriage. Take the time to work through each subject. You will benefit greatly from it! - Ryan

Lindsey and Jacob
California / Roman Catholic Course
These classes have helped us open up more and become closer. We were able to talk about hard topics in an open space and it allowed me to understand and learn more about him and his family. I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy taking this class but, I found it extremely helpful and important as these are topics that we needed to talk about. I am a very confrontational person and sometimes push others to speak out too hard. I found that this class allowed me to take a step back and really listen and learn what my partner is saying. I was able to listen instead of interrupt and put my opinion in the mix. I waited until he was done talking to share my thoughts and feelings. This class made it very easy for the both of us to open up and learn more about one another. I think this class will play a huge part in our future as we continue to grow and learn about one another. - Lindsey
These classes have helped us come closer to each other but also I’ve gotten to know her and her family better. At first I was hesitant to take the classes, but after completing them I was glad I took them because it brought me mentally and physically closer to Lindsey. I’ve never been one to open up to anyone and still with the relationship I’ve had with Lindsey I was still very to myself. I hardly talk about my feelings and thoughts to anyone including my family. However, after taking these classes with Lindsey I feel more at ease talking about emotional and sentimental things with her. These classes have already helped us grow stronger and I don’t doubt they will continue to help us grow stronger in the future. - Jacob

Mirian and Ovidiu
Spain / Roman Catholic Course
My boyfriend and I have gone through this as an engaged couple. This course was fun and allowed us to go in depth with our relationship and understand our different styles of how we handle situations and our parents' ways as well. We took our evenings when we were alone to work our way through the talks. We found that it brought up topics and points that we hadn't considered and gave us a lot to think about regarding our future together. But most importantly, we confirmed we agree on the main points and we are more sure than ever we took the right decision getting engaged. - Mirian
The prep course was absolutely great! The material covered was just wonderful and created lots of things to talk about between my fiance and myself. We just loved the conversations and the topics covered and always looked forward to the next one. Overall, a great course for improving communication and developing deeper levels of intimacy as a couple and future husband and wife. - Ovidiu

Mark and Leslie
Texas / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
I really liked the course and enjoyed doing it with my fiance! I found the most beneficial items were the tough questions people tend not to ask because they are worried about hurting someone’s feelings. We got to talk about possible kids down the road, and what to expect out of both of us in marriage. Overall, it was a good project to do. I am glad we wrote our answers down on paper so we can revisit the papers in the future to remember how everything started. Great course and not too time consuming. - Mark
I liked doing the course with my fiancé because we got to know each other way better. I found it interesting talking about what we have written on each question. We had so much in common, few differences but we talked about it and made sure we agreed on both opinions. It is a great way for us to have some activity to learn about each other through this course. - Leslie

The process was easy, and the content was helpful in guiding a sincere conversation. It was also nice to have a fun moment among the stress of wedding planning. The prompts were open ended and made room for dialogue and questions. Our marriage and our future has benefited from this experience. - Tim
The prompts were super helpful and allowed for our conversations to stay on track. They also helped me reflect on our relationship and our future together in a way I hadn’t thought about before. The overall experience was beneficial in creating a vision for our life together! - Krystal

Kieu-Trinh and Jamie
Canada / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
The conversations after reviewing the courses were the most beneficial ensuring that we have had thorough conversations about our relationship. Overall, it also did come out that we have great communication which is great news! I hope that our communication habits are here to stay but we know that good respectful communication does not come without effort. I think doing the worksheets especially ensured everything remained respectful as responses were more thought out. I think writing out all the things we really appreciate and love about each other and why we are getting married or things we wish to say on our wedding were all very important. When things get tough inevitably, it will be a good resource to look back upon. – Kieu-Trinh
The exercises and questions that came up were very valuable in stirring good conversation between myself and Kieu Trinh. I thought our communication was always very good and from this exercise I think we discovered we are in a great place, both excited to get married and continue our partnership together. Issues, both major and minor will come up, but the important part is we both respect each other, are kind to each other, and love each other fully. - Jamie

I greatly enjoyed completing the eCourse with my fiancée. I learned a lot about strengthening our relationship and improving our communication for our marriage. I also learned more about our values and how they align together. By completing this eCourse, we are able to improve our union, and that has increased our happiness. And when we have problems, I have methods that I can look back on to help guide us on the right path. - John
Rev. Frank Nelson, thank you so much for this insightful marriage preparation class. I really enjoyed the part where we did the questionnaires, and we sat together holding hands, reading each other's answers. Every chapter of this course is helpful for us because it makes us know each other even more. I am grateful because this made me feel closer to John. I know that we can always refer back to this when in need, and it can be a valuable tool for our marriage. - Danica

I experienced a new closeness with Veronica and more understanding of the issues that we face and a renewed gratitude for Veronica (thru knowing how she feels for me, in writing) being in my life. I feel very blessed that we have spent time together, going thru this program and I am so very excited to be the one who is to be her husband. I got a better insight into how I can make her happy/happier. I wish to thank her for the time that she spent with me, for the faith that she has and for sharing of her faith with me. I am very happy, and I believe with all my heart that we are ready to step into our next phase of life together as husband & wife. Thank you Father and God Bless - Glen
I found the experience helpful and the questions at times were a little challenging, though provoking as it forced me think about relationship. I enjoyed going through this experience with Glen. It only made me realize more why I fell in love with him. - Veronica

I thought the course was masterfully created to jointly explore all facets of marriage. The course was a reminder of all the things we enjoy about each other. Furthermore, it allowed us to express why we chose one another as partners and reaffirm our values. Simultaneously, the course allowed us to work through difficult moments and set goals for future growth. - Johnathan
Writing the answers allows us the opportunity to revisit the documents in the future and strengthen our marriage. It serves as an extra layer of commitment. It reinforces our vows. We have signed our name to said agreement. It will be a constant reminder to preserve and foster an environment of love. It was a pleasure completing your course and you were very helpful, which is a reflection of your professionalism. - LeTyasha

I felt this course helped us a lot because it made us think of things that we normally would not think to talk about. I feel the conversations we had will help us during our marriage and work on the things that we feel need to be fixed. I would highly recommend this course to other couples because it will help your marriage and help you understand each other with certain aspects of life. - Samantha
I felt the course was pretty good. It definitely made me think about some things and reflect on what we need to do to make things better. The children aspect of the course was my favorite because it made me really think about how I want to raise my child. There are things we need to work on and these conversation pieces can help us. I would recommend this course to other people because it can really help you be on the same page. - Steven

Jason and Kayleigh
Florida / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
I found the coursework very introspective and productive. I found that there are things Kayleigh and I will always need to work out together as a team. Kayleigh is my best friend and loves me unconditionally. She is an incredible mother and spouse. I found the coursework allowed me to really see and think about just how important she is to me. Like they say, behind every great man is an even greater woman. I can't wait to spend a lifetime with her. - Jason
I think this course was great. It got into some deep topics about not only each other, but our families as well. Also, it gave us a chance to set aside some time to talk with each other about things that we haven't really gotten a chance to get into much these days just with our busy day to day lives. It's good to ask these questions and maybe get a little uncomfortable so we can be completely transparent with each other and have a better understanding of the who, what, when, where, and whys. It also tapped into what we foresee in the future and how we imagine ourselves with our little one and it painted us a great picture. - Kayleigh

Madison and Waylon
Minnesota / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
The course was very helpful for me because I felt like it brought to light conversations that we needed to finish that we had previously brought up that had either become dismissed or caused an arguement about. This allowed us to work through it and not create an arguement about certain topics, it also was warming to see what he wants out of all of those and me also, we noticed we wanted similar things which we already had an idea of, but helped confirm that. - Madison
I enjoyed being able to work with Mady about some unresolved issues we had and it made me feel secure in the decision we are about to commit to. Thank you for the opportunity to build that better connection with my future wife to be. - Waylon

Michael and Lethe
Texas / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
I was surprised that during the Issues segment, the issue we chose was deeper than we first thought. We were able to have a long discussion about how the problem came up, and we came up with some plans to tackle it. I found it really helpful to be able to do things on our own time. It gave us time to really think through things and have more meaningful conversations. I would tell other engaged couples to take things at a comfortable pace. Sometimes difficult topics came up and it’s okay to step away from it for a bit. - Michael
I was encouraged by the Rules for Resolving Conflict section. Communication is something my fiancé and I have been working on for a while, and it was nice to see that we were already naturally following a lot of the rules listed in the PDF. It was nice to see them all written out like that and to be able to print them out as a reminder. This was a valuable course and it allowed me to understand my partner’s feelings behind things better. Sometimes it’s hard to put things verbally, but completing the written portion gave us a good springboard to jump into conversations. To other couples, I would tell them that even if you think you know your partner completely, this course may bring up things that surprise you. It brings up a lot of topics that are vital to talk about before getting married. - Lethe

Jairo and Teresia
Texas / Roman Catholic Course
I was pleasantly surprised with this course. The conversation assignments are really geared towards igniting conversation. There were topics here that we hadn’t really delved into too much when we did our Catholic preparation. I also liked how this course really focused on real life issues that we do face on day-to-day basis. Our Catholic preparation was more geared toward the religious side of marriage which is great but some of these topics that we discussed in this course are crucial to a lasting marriage. The emphasis on the open lines of communication is great to hear and really helped shape our conversations. None of these were too out of the ordinary so I feel like we have been on the right track with one another. I feel that we are a bit more prepared to enter into our marriage. – Jairo
The past day or so I was so stressed about our marriage license issue and when I found this course, I was relieved but a bit annoyed since we had already done our Catholic marriage prep. Once we started, I noticed the difference in this course immediately. The conversation assignments truly help to touch on points that are so important for a healthy marriage. I felt like Jairo and I have always had good communication, but this course really took it a step further and helped us to touch on issues we hadn’t spent too much time in the Catholic preparation. The Catholic preparation we had already gone through was wonderful from the religious perspective, but it barely touched on these issues that I feel have a greater impact on the life of a marriage. I truly feel that we are now going into Saturday with a better understanding of one another and have a better direction of where we want our marriage headed. Thank you so much for providing this course and all the great material! - Teresia

Cathy and Kyle
Tennessee / Roman Catholic Course
This course prompted a lot of good discussions between us. The questions on the discussion guides ensured that we thoroughly discussed important topics, and brought up areas that needed clarification and improvement. In particular, the last section on issues was very helpful for us in working through something that we have been trying to address. - Cathy and Kyle

Robert and Olivia
Michican / Roman Catholic Pre-Cana Course
I enjoyed this course very much. It was very convenient to be able to do, especially with both of our busy and unpredictable schedules. We both work in the operating room and never know when we will get out of work. Sometimes if everything goes perfect, we would both get out at a decent time, but this course made it very easy and allowed both of us to work around our differing schedules. I also thought that the discussion topics were exactly topics that needed to be discussed, worked on, and agreed upon. There were topics, ideas, and other elements of this course that are not necessarily topics people like to bring up but they need to be discussed and each person needs to come to an agreement. I felt it was helpful in the sense that it brought to light all of the issues couples could have and basically put it out there for the couple to discuss, figure out solutions, or how to handle conflicts that arise. The course also makes the individuals taking it realize their actions, and now it affects their partner. Someone might be doing something to drive the other person to feel anger towards them and might not even know it. When this issue is discussed, something can be done in order to make both happy. The course was very enjoyable, we were able to do it together in the comfort of our own homes. I would recommend this course to others because of the convenience, the ability to do the courses around a couple’s schedule, and the helpful discussions and topics that were contained in this course. - Robert
I thoroughly enjoyed taking this course, and I believe it was an eye-opening experience for both me and my fiancé. First, I found that this course was helpful because it brought up topics that we may not have considered or may not have talked about on our own, or that may have been a little uncomfortable for us to bring up without a little push. It opened up the door for deeper, more constructive conversation. It was nice to explore our spiritual beliefs at this time because I feel as though those can be easily lost in the very hectic, stressful environment that comes with wedding planning. We entered into this journey together solely for the purpose of union, and it was nice to be reminded of that through this course. I liked the setup of the class because it allowed us to go at our own pace—we could do a little each night after work or do more on the days we weren’t as busy. It was very convenient for our lifestyle. I highly recommend this course to other couples. I feel as if our relationship has been renewed and rejuvenated, and it sets us up for a better, more understanding marriage. - Olivia

Amanda and Rodney
Texas / Christian (Non-Denominational) Course
I feel the process of marriage counseling not only validated my choice and feelings for Rodney, but they also grew. I knew of my love for him, but hearing the way we loved each other made me realize I couldn’t wait to call this sweet man my husband. This was the most enjoyable part for me. There is not much we do not share with each other; however, the section issues were helpful in discussing a couple things we have not been able to solve yet. I am grateful for deciding to take counseling with my future husband, and will hold on to the lessons it has taught us during both the good and bad times. Amanda
Thank you for allowing us to open up with each other more through your easy to walk through course. The lessons were enjoyable. We shared tears, laughter, and our feelings with each other each step of the way. We were already open with each other before, but the course helped us touch on things that needed further discussion and attention. But moreover, the course helped me realize I was making the perfect choice on the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. Forever grateful for what these lessons showed me and helped further prove for me. Rodney

Gracias Pastor Frank!! Perla Victoria Melendez
Translated to English -- The pre marital class was the most valuable and essential for our wedding. We not only learned how to communicate, but also to forgive ourselves. The most important thing I learned was how to keep Jesus as the strength of our union. The Rev. Frank videos were very informative, I feel such a beautiful and pure connection in my heart that I did not feel before. The truth when I started the class, I did not think I was going to learn so much. I think that what I liked the most was step 6, because it is about family and also how I always do my part. I thank God for putting this wonderful and educational course on my path. I recommend that all Christian couples take a few days of their time to strengthen their relationship with God and also as a couple. Thanks Pastor Frank !!
Translated to English -- Pastor Frank, Thank you for giving me the opportunity to know myself more as a man, more than my wife, and above all Jesus our God. I have always had a misunderstanding of what marriage is, but thanks to your classes, I learned that marriage is a sacred pact for life. I lived a very empty childhood and I don't want to give my family the marriage that my parents had, I want to be a better husband and father of a family. It was difficult for me to understand that my mother will no longer be the first in my life, if not my wife, and thanks to work 4 I learned how to divide the "parents" and give priority to the family. Also step 7 number 1 and 2 was very eye-opening. My wife and I studied this chapter a lot and in some things we did not agree, but in the end we reached an understanding thanks to their teachings we learned that COMMUNICATION is the most important thing. The Online Marriage Preparation Course and Conversations was a great experience for Judith and I. It provided avenues for us to sit together often even in the heat of preparing for our wedding to discuss the essential topics your course covered. Your course includes very extensive thought-provoking ideas and questions which we couldn’t have ever dreamed of, if it wasn’t for your online marriage preparation course and conversations. - John
We are especially thankful to you for the course on Conflict resolution. Rev Frank, we take off our hats for you for bringing up such an awesome online marriage preparation course. It has put us in the driver’s seat for our life long marriage journey. We will always recommend your course to family and friends getting ready to marry. - Judith

Stephen and Danielle

Rev. Frank, thank you for allowing us to take the online pre-cana course. I believe each conversation had a very purposeful reasoning to be there. It made me think deep and truly embrace the experience. This allowed me to first express my own thoughts on topics and then listen to Danielle’s point of view and have meaningful conversations and gain a better understanding of each other. The structure of the program flowed very smoothly. We were able to connect on a spiritual level and we look forward to growing our faith together. - Stephen
Rev. Frank, this experience has taught me more about the importance of marriage that I could have ever imagined. It educated us in areas in which we normally would not have focused on. It taught me not to take our parents for granted and to rely on them to continue to provide guidance throughout our married life. They have always been there for us, and they will continue to do so as we enter this new chapter in our lives. In addition, it also taught me the importance of investing time and energy into our love life, especially when children come along, they can add added stress to our relationship and it’s important to make time for ourselves. As a result of this experience I now know that if we work together as a team through the difficult decisions and continue to push each other, we will succeed in whatever we do. - Danielle

My experience with the course was great! It exceeded my expectations. I was very impressed by the depth of the questions. The convenience of it was awesome! The questions caused us to reflect and discuss important matters and we learned more about each other in the process. - Hailey
This course helped give us greater clarity in preparation for our marriage. We already had strong commitment and shared values, and by taking time to have deep conversations with one another we were able to more deeply be on the same page. We also loved the flexibility of being able to schedule at our time and pace that fit our busy schedule. We are excited to now be able to use the lessons learned from this course as we prepare a lifetime of memories together as we build a life together. - Kevin

Overall, the experience that I have when it comes to preparing for our wedding has been enjoyable. Ngoc and I did come across some challenges and differences in the ways that we wanted to celebrate our love; however, we managed to communicate effectively and resolve all those differences. The thing that I found to be the most helpful is timely communication and being open about our expectations. This will help us be aware of each other's feelings and avoid any understanding. - Thi
My experience in preparing for the wedding has been bittersweet. Many conflicts arise in the process, from the smallest to more severe matters. Trying to hold a wedding amidst the Coronavirus novel has added even more challenges. However, I'm proud to say that we have managed to resolve all those conflicts; and effective communication is the key. I'm really proud of me and my wife-to-be that we have been able to put our differences aside and meet at a happy medium to have the best wedding. - Ngoc

This course was very thorough understanding and taught me to own what I already knew. Ways to calmingly resolve issue and insight of approaching ways to compromise communicate and care for my spouse. My favorite part was learning how to resolve issues. Your program will most definitely impact my relationship positively going forward. I have made sure to add my promises listed to my vows. I thank you dearly for this experience. I can’t wait for the anniversary. – Monique and Tanike

The course was very thorough and helped us verbalize some of our thoughts and feelings. These are some great conversations that all couples should have before marriage and can really help others grow closer together and with God. We especially look forward to using the guide on conflict resolution some day. - Kim
The course was great and guided many important conversations. I really appreciated the module about “Issues” as this was a good starting point to a very important conversation that we were able to have. I’m glad that we were able to do this at our own pace and in the safe space of our home so that we could openly and shamelessly talk about important issues. - Scott

Christian Non-Denominational Course (Spanish Version)
(Translated from Spanish) I thank Reverend Dr. Frank Nelson for this online course. It was a unique experience, especially because we discovered things or points that we had not previously discussed or touched on. The importance of a marriage and that we will be one flesh. Marriage is a very important step and that through living together we will get to know each other more. He also helped me in the part about the importance of leisure. We had not touched this point before and by taking this course we were able to talk about the matter. And the decision was that it must be agreed to be able to enjoy the relationship together. And it allows us to be able to meet our needs. We know that problems could come, but having good communication with your partner can help us solve them. This course was very useful, good and necessary, because it helped us to see every aspect of life in a marriage. - Diana
I sincerely believe that these courses are useful, good, necessary and transcendent, because it leads us to look at each aspect of life within marriage. - Nector

Julia and Roman
Texas / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
Thank you very much for the course. We have been together for 6 years and were surprised to learn a lot of new things about each other. There are a lot of questions that help you understand yourself better (questions about love and what it means for you, about your childhood and your parents), questions that are extremely important, but you may have never asked them to yourself. The course helped us become closer to each other, learn how to resolve conflicts, talk and listen to each other. I think this course will be helpful to any couple (even already married) willing to learn about each other, build trust and grow together. - Julia
I enjoyed the course and time spent with Julia during our conversations. The course is very well structured and consists of simple, but incredibly deep questions. Highly recommended! Thank you so much, Rev. Frank! - Roman

Mackenzie and Ben
Minnesota / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
I really enjoyed the course! It prompted great conversation and allowed me to organize my thoughts on certain topics. We worked through the course material over a couple weeks and it didn't seem too overwhelming. I have action items now of things to work on to improve our marriage. I liked the PDF style of the conversations. I would definitely recommend this course to someone looking for an online module version of marriage counseling. I appreciate your expertise and guidance, and will look forward to looking back on these conversations in the future. Thanks again! - Mackenzie
This course has helped us to communicate about the important topics we will go through as a married couple and come up with tactics to resolve issues as they arise. It helped paint a picture of reality and not to expect sunshine and rainbows every day. I think it also shed light on some topics we did not want to discuss. One thing that I think could be a little better, but understand is hard to do as a self-guided course is to make sure we stop to discuss potential conflicting thoughts for certain questions. We were both open when we wanted to spend more time on a certain topic, and the other was receptive to hear what needed to be shared. I hope we are able to continue these conversations as needed and re-open a prior conversation if it needs to be. - Ben

Veronica and Zach
Texas / Basic (Non Religious) Course
Thank you for providing this source for our marriage counseling! While Zack and I are luckily already great communicators, I found it was a great way to define how we already feel about the topics discussed in the course. It was also nice to have these conversations leading up to the wedding. The course was easy to follow. My only criticism is that I think that some of the questions throughout the course became a little repetitive, and I found myself writing similar answers for multiple prompts. Otherwise, it was a great exercise in getting ourselves ready to make the commitment of a lifetime and I’d recommend it to other couples! - Veronica
I think your course was simple yet thorough. It was not difficult to follow along, yet gave leading questions that caused both me and my fiancé to think and express real points of view that were not superficial. I appreciate that they were filled out separately so one's ideas could be fleshed out before sharing, and I appreciate the topics being divided up to keep the conversations specific and on task. Overall, a great and helpful course leading up to our wedding. - Zack

Texas / Christian (Non-Denominational) Course
Hi Rev. Frank, we completed the premarital course and it was an amazing experience that forced us to open up and be transparent. It allowed us to really grow in our relationship and prepare for our marriage. I enjoyed how we prayed with and for each other and our future together. I also enjoyed how we held hands during our conversations for a deeper intimacy. I would recommend this for any couple that really wants to prepare and feel more confident in their journey to marriage. It covers every aspect of a marriage and you as an individual. These courses are great in helping you recognize your trouble areas and things that need work in your relationship and on your own. I look forward to using the additional conversations to guide us throughout our marriage for years to come! Thank you for walking us through the process and helping us prepare for our marriage! - Charissa
Reverend Nelson, thank you for the time and commitment that you put into creating this wonderful program. My fiancé and I both benefited greatly from the thoughtful approach to the many segments of tangible and intangible angles that marriage encompasses. I found the conversations to be a great opportunity to really dig deep and go beyond surface discussions. Though in-person counseling allows for a constant dialog and real time input that is helpful, this program is the next best thing because of the modeling of the activities and. follow ups. We look forward to using the "Rules for Resolving Conflicts" as a guide to more graciously navigate the tensions that may arise when we are married. The fact that all of the material is Bible-based is something I do not want to fail to mention, as that is foundationally key to what made this program effective. Once again, we are thankful for the way that everything is framed in these lessons, it will allow us to continually examine our hearts, thoughts, and actions within matrimony. - Kellus

Kaitlyn and Barry
Texas / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
I enjoyed this course and found it very helpful. I have a difficult time communicating, so the worksheets helped a lot to get started talking about things we had never talked about before. I think we just figured we thought the same. We discovered things about each other and even had some moments of arguing about past hurt which lead to a feeling of healing and coming together. I would tell anyone who is getting married to put time into this course, because its worth it no matter how close you think you guys are! Thank you for creating this beautiful program. I am very grateful for the guidance/help communicating and learning to love. - Kaitlyn
Thank you for developing this course. Going through the material with Kaitlyn was informative and therapeutic at times. I think I've learned a lot about myself, Kaitlyn, and our relationship. We have decided to incorporate discussions like those facilitated by the course on a more regular basis, because we appreciate how doing so through the course has brought us closer together. Thanks again for the thought put into developing this course. - Barry

Marriage counseling was of utmost importance for me. I’m so happy we found this faith-based guidance. The information we received was valuable and I can’t wait to go through the years looking back at our assignments to see how we’ve grown and remember the foundation of where we began. I’m grateful for all the conversations we’ve had because of the counseling and even the arguments we were able to resolve through these conversations. I’m sure this will help us remain as one throughout our life. - Florelys
I thought that this was incredibly helpful, honestly. It made me think about a lot of things that either had slipped my mind, never been a thought, or something I had not considered necessary to talk about until we did. It really made it easy to talk about any issues I was having with her without feeling like I was going to just start an argument. It made for a safe feeling environment for us to talk about important topics. I would 100% recommend this to other couples. I think even if people only get one thing out of the entirety of all the sessions, that one thing is better than not having done it at all. I got so much out of this, and I think every couple would benefit from it. I also was always looking forward to those conversations with my partner and loved that that was included alongside just doing the assignments separately. - Liam

Texas / Christian (Non-Denominational) Course
Dear Reverend Frank, I was very grateful for the topics brought up in the course! There were many issues and solutions waiting to be discovered behind our love-blinded eyes. I was particularly fond of the Faith conversation. It is not something we discuss often and to be honest, we were worried we were not on the same page. It was so rewarding to discover our answers were basically the same! Going through these conversations, whether they be tough or joyful, it only solidified how much I want to marry him. I appreciate you giving that gift. I think these conversations will be valuable tools for me and I definitely plan on recommending it to future newlyweds! - Kathleen
Dear Reverend Frank, my fiance originally ordered this and I was hesitant, yet excited as I had told her I thought marriage counseling would be a good idea before getting married. After weeks of discussion, I am satisfied with the progress our relationship has made. We learned so much about our relationship and I think we came out stronger because of this program. I am so happy with how we are currently because of the conversations you made us do. I have always known I wanted to marry her but it has grown exponentially since I got to know her deeper through these conversations. I have a couple I know that are getting married next year and I plan on forwarding your website to them to see if they want to do it too! Thank you! - Brandon

I really enjoyed the Texas e Course. I believe it helped Adam and I to talk about money, children, etc. that we haven’t had as thorough of conversations on. We set time each week to work on these courses which I think also made the course more enjoyable. It almost seemed like a serious conversation type of date night. I would highly recommend anyone to use this course in the future. We really truly did appreciate the course. We weren’t so sure about taking a premarital course at first but are extremely happy that we did! Thank you so much!!! - Kristin
This course was great, I really learned a lot about my future spouse. I didn’t realize how much we hadn’t talked about! The discussions we had during this process really made us a lot stronger. I was skeptical at first but this turned out to be a great thing and I would recommend it to anyone getting married. Thanks! - Adam

Joyce and Joshua
Minnesota / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
In terms of our experience, I would definitely say it was worth the time and effort, and would certainly recommend the course to our friends. I thought it was really funny that when we did our couple check-up, our main area of difference was in our expectations of what marriage will be like. I tend to be more of the realist, and had to talk Josh into doing a course like this because he didn't think we would need it. By the end of the course, he agreed that going over the different topics/talk points helped to strengthen our bond, as we had talked about many of these things before but not always at such a deep level, and also that the issues discussion/conflict resolution template could be very helpful in the future. We're generally on the same page about most things, but it makes me feel even more secure knowing that we have a method to help us resolve any potential conflicts in the future. Overall, we feel like your course has really helped us prepare for marriage and to feel ready for all of the blessings and challenges that life has in store! – Joyce and Joshua

Emily and Christopher
Massachusetts / Roman Catholic Course
This course was so thorough. I learned so much about how God is involved in every aspect of our lives. Topics came up that we hadn't thoroughly discussed and this was an excellent way to figure things out in a structured way. We are more connected as a couple and have a better understanding of each other's views. I enjoyed the conversations the most and looked forward to hearing my partner's responses. I would tell other couples that this course is an important part of the wedding planning process. It was well worth the money spent. Thank you for all of your help and for having this course. - Emily
My work schedule is hectic and unpredictable. The best part of the course is that we were able to complete it at our own pace (which was admittedly slower than we expected). I liked that we could print it out and fill out a little bit at a time. I enjoyed the conversations about our families and children. I would recommend this to other busy couples as a convenient and powerful way to fulfill this requirement. - Christopher

Christian and Emily

I had a wonderful experience doing this marriage preparation course. Being able to share with each other our thoughts and feeling about the topics covered in this course was an amazing experience. Emily and I have been together for 10+ years (since high school) and I was able to learn things about her that I was unaware of. Going through how our parents raised us and the different personalities that our parents have, I could see how we have become the people that we are today. It was really interesting to say the least and am glad that we spent the time together to go through this process. - Christian
I found this experience to be very helpful and enjoyable. I think it is really important to have these tough conversations with your significant other prior to getting married. Our conversations helped analyze where in our relationship we struggle and need to work on, as well as areas that our relationship is strong in. It was also really nice sharing and hearing each other’s thoughts and feelings of the other person on the different topics discussed. I’m excited to use the conversation resources in the future and apply what I have learned in this course about myself and my fiancé to ensure success in our marriage. - Emily

Minnesota / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
My fiancé and I chose this course as recommended by our church for its convenience and simplicity. Dr. Rev Frank has a highly organized and updated class that we found worked well for us. We have opposite work schedules, so this allowed us to find time to sit down comfortably together when we were both available. We have been dating for over 10 years and we know each other well. We did however find this to be a helpful way to review our values and to be on the same page prior to getting married. We discussed some topics like children and money that can be more difficult to talk about. I felt like this course brought us together and has made us feel more prepared for this next chapter in our lives. - Erica
This was a great course to bring up some tough questions in our relationship. It was an easy way to get us talking and allowed us to do the class while we had time. Our schedules aren’t the easiest to meet in person for a class so this was the perfect compromise. I enjoyed the grouping of topics as to not overwhelm with several talking points each section. Would recommend this class to any couple just to air out any feelings or thoughts with their partner in a safe space. - Alex

I would like to give a huge thank you to Rev. Frank Nelson for taking his time and coming up with a premarital course designed for any time and any place! This course was really informative and it was very detailed. Me and my soon to be husband are in a long distance relationship and we knew we wanted to participate in premarital counseling but we didn’t know how we would accomplish that goal when we are living in two different states. Rev. Nelson made that possible for us! We were able to complete each part of the course via FaceTime and we enjoyed every part of it. I loved how the course was detailed and how it brought up situations that you wouldn’t necessarily think about. We were able to discuss new things that we’ve never discussed in the past. I believe this course will always be something we can look back on at any moment in our marriage to help us in our relationship. This course allowed us to glorify God and to appreciate our relationship even more! I would definitely recommend this course to couples around the world because it was enjoyable. There aren’t many courses that you take that you can have fun and enjoy it. Although me and my Fiancé didn’t get to sit together side by side, Rev. Frank encouraged this course to be done over shared meals, silent prayers and holding of hands— amazing! If you’re looking to become married or you’re already married and you’re looking for some guidance, I definitely recommend this course! - Nakiera
I am thankful for this course and glad I came across it. I want to thank Rev. Frank Nelson for dedicating his time and for doing a great work with this course. It was perfect for us as we are in 2 separate states. It was well informative and had directions for everything. Simple but effective. I couldn’t pick just 1 part that was good because each section helped in our relationship and gave us clarity as we continue to move forward. The course has great questions that may lead into some deep discussions, discussions you wouldn’t think you would have. I also loved how they had a section on our parents, which I think is needed as you’re marrying into someone else’s family as well. All around I give this course a 10/10, and if you’re planning on getting married, taking this premarital course will be a great help! - Corey

The course promoted many conversations that are fundamental for the foundation of a good marriage. I looked forward to our conversation each week. It was good to talk about a few things that we hadn't yet discussed, and good to talk about things that we had already discussed just to ensure we were on the same page. I liked that we wrote our answers separately before coming together to speak. I would recommend this course to any couple looking to get married. - Justine
I thought the course was good. It really helped engage conversation and force us to actually talk. I feel like we got closer as a couple by just talking through everything and writing out our thoughts beforehand was key to making sure we really considered the questions. I would recommend it to other couples for sure. - Alex

My Partner and I enjoyed this course as it provided a structured platform for us to have deep and meaningful conversations that we would otherwise not have discussed. Because of these conversations, my partner and I learn more about how we perceive each other's flaws and how we can work on them to have a good marriage. The course has also helped us to understand that it is about expressing love towards each other more so than being right or putting our point across. We would advise our friends that while these courses may seem cliched and contrived, if they approach and participate in it with an open mind, and they may learn more from it than they expect. Thank you and best regards. – Teh
My Partner and I enjoyed this course as it gave us a chance to engage in meaningful conversations and touch on sensitive topics we otherwise normally avoid. This helps us to discuss on the issues we face than swept them below to rug. Which in turn gave us the opportunity to think of a solution to our problem. We realized that it is important to communicate openly what we are displeased about than to keep it to ourselves. When we share about it, we are able to understand each other's point of view better and work on an agreeable solution. The course reminds me to be always respectful to my partner even if there is a disagreement. We were really glad that this course was available during the Covid19 Pandemic situation, if not our wedding would have to be postponed to a much later date. so thank you Rev Frank Nelson and God bless! - Lee

Paige and Rob
Connecticut / Roman Catholic Course
Communication is something that will always need improvement in our lives. What I appreciated most about this course was the different techniques for communicating. Having been dating for 5.5 years, Rob and I have learned a lot about communicating with one another but sometimes we find ourselves at a point where we don’t know how to communicate, or not communicating well. We had some good discussions during this course, of topics we have struggled a little bit to communicate about in the past. We were able to hear each other out and have productive conversations on a lot of these topics, most importantly on Money and Our Parents. I look forward to continue to have productive conversations with Rob as we continue to grow in our relationship. I believe these productive conversations will be beneficial for our life together. - Paige
Having dated longer than a lot of engaged couples and gone through several moves together, I tend to think Paige and I are ahead on a lot of the pre-marital talks. Going through this course was a good reset and directed our conversations towards topics that aren’t always easy and fun. We clearly aligned on most of the topics but the Financial topic was particularly good. She is more impulsive with spending and I’m a definite saver. Hearing each other talk about how we can work together to accomplish our goals, while still having fun and getting projects done was beneficial to me. We plan to continue talks like that so we can work together to achieve goals, both individual and as a couple, without frustrating each other. - Rob

The pre-marital guided conversations were a great way to sit down together and discuss important topics prior to our wedding. I enjoyed it because we were able to have productive conversations about previous and current challenges and disagreements that we have had without arguing or getting distracted. I also felt that my fiancé realized how important it is to communicate and sometimes have difficult conversations that he may not want to have but are necessary. We were even able to talk about some things more in depth such as children and our long-term goals together that we had not discussed before. I would definitely recommend this program to other engaged couples. It provides great topics, allows each individual to open up more and communicate on a deeper, more personal level and it is self-paced! - Jordan
I really enjoyed taking the course. It made us set aside time to talk just the two of us. Some of the questions brought up stuff we didn't know about each other. Some questions made us think and actually talk about our issues and come up with solutions. I would recommend this course to other people. I really liked how it was self-paced and could talk about some questions more and get into detail. Thank you so much. I believe it set us up for a happy and healthy marriage. - Peter

Maryland / Roman Catholic Course
We really enjoyed the online course and the flexibility it offered to our complicated and different schedules. The course brought up topics that we may not have previously discussed and helped us work through our answers with one another. There were a few questions where we disagreed but we realized after discussing that it was okay to disagree as long as we talked it out and heard each other's side of things. We really enjoyed every section as it really helped to solidify why we are getting married in the first place. The course really brought us closer and we learned so much more about each other than we knew before. We would highly recommend this course to any newly engaged couple!! - Kristen
With COVID and working in the restaurant industry with a not so normal schedule this course was the best fit for us. We were able to work on it at any time and share our conversations with each other when we both were available. The questions went into a lot of topics that we would not normally touch on and I actually really enjoyed it. I believe this course alone brought my fiance and I closer than before. After being together for so long, sometimes you can lose sight of the important things and the course really helped in getting us back on track. I'm really happy that we chose to do this course and better our understanding of the importance of communication in marriage. - Brad

We initially only signed up for this class in order to have the 72-hr waiting period waived. However, it was helpful to have the conversations as they gave me insight into what Stacy was thinking/feeling. I believe this experience has prepared us to share more with one another. - Linell
I enjoyed most all of it. It required us to really open up to each other and tell each other our innermost feelings. As we went through each conversation we found more and more compatible feelings and beliefs. I feel this course has started us on a firm foundation for be able to communicate anything we have on our mind with each other and always know what each other is thinking, feeling and hoping for. - Stacy

This pre-marital course was an eye-opening experience. It really made us both think about things and was very engaging. The only thing that I would change is perhaps have some conversation topics geared more to older couples ( over 50 ) who have been married before and have experienced failure. Regardless, this course is a great way to have meaningful discussions and improve any relationship. - Al
I thought Rev. Dr. Nelson's course was a great way to have discussions with my future husband that I normally would not have had. Honestly, some of the conversations were a bit challenging, maybe even somewhat uncomfortable, but nevertheless very productive. A great tool to open lines of communication. The end result is that we both learned some things about each other and discovered areas where we will work on to avoid any problems in the future. - Patricia

Dear Rev. Frank, my fiancé and I just completed the online marriage prep course, and I would like to say a few words about my experience. I was a little hesitant with how this process would go and skeptical about its seriousness. However, as her and I moved through each conversation, we found them to be very enlightening and sparked strong conversations. We thoroughly enjoyed talking about these topics and discussing our opinions and statements and we truly feel like we are closer because of this process. I would highly recommend this to other couples who are getting married in the future and to have these conversations with each other. This course has been great for us because of its flexibility (schedules not aligning and COVID) and its attention to detail. On behalf of myself and my fiancé, I would like to say thank you and God Bless! - Adam
Dear Rev. Frank, thank you for providing us with this marriage prep online course. It has actually brought a lot of joy and resolution to Adam and I's relationship. It was exciting to fill out each worksheet on our own and then come together and listen to each other's unique responses. Fortunately, most of the topics provided in the worksheets are areas Adam and I have thoroughly discussed before we even got engaged. But bringing them back up and reiterating all the things that made us fall in love with each other has been such a blessing. I will definitely be recommending this to those around me. I already ran into Deacon John and let him know that we have loved this course and that he should recommend it to future engaged couples. I also have shared it with a couple of my good girl friends who could potentially be engaged in the near future. Thank you again for sharing this with us. This course and the multiple discussions has brought Adam and I even closer and has made us that much more excited and honored to be receiving the sacrament of marriage together in the Catholic Church. - Jaedyn

Weston and Haley
Texas / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
Hey Dr. Rev. Frank just wanted to say the course was awesome I enjoyed having deep conversations with my future wife. The steps and most the conversations were easy for us I feel. Largely because we already do the things in this course on a daily basis but it made me more at ease knowing that we are well on our way to great things. I would recommend this course to any newly engaged couple. Matter of fact I wish it was a requirement these days. I will continue to do the steps or look back on the conversations if we for some reason ever lose track of things. Thanks again. - Weston
I had a really great experience with this course. It really taught me how to not be so selfish in a relationship not only with Weston but with any of my relationships. I most enjoyed the conflict resolution section because I had an issue with trying to resolve anything. I think this course contributed a bunch to our preparation for marriage because we both had issues with conflict resolution and it taught us how to have a successful conversation. - Haley

We both enjoyed the course work. I really feel like it brought us closer because we really had to think about our responses and parse our feelings. I feel like I understand him even more and I especially appreciate the difficult parts that otherwise may have been very stressful. We sat close and were able to discuss uncomfortable subjects like budgeting and conflicts. I feel more confident going into this week, our wedding week! Thank you for offering this course. Couldn't have been done any other way, with work schedules, children, COVID restrictions, etc. I felt like you were there for us and we could do this in our own home, comfortable, and at our own pace and times that worked for us. Thank you! Sincerely, Wendy and Danny

Devon and I were excited to do pre-marital counseling from the get-go. We recognize how helpful it is to be on the same page when it comes to our newly joint lives. I also was a little apprehensive – we’ve moved in together and have had a lot of hard, important talks and wondered what else we needed to go through. Clearly I was wrong, there was still a lot for us to talk about; a lot more we could learn about each other. We learned about the ways we think and more importantly the ways we think differently. We’ve learned about big things like our mutual disinterest in having children, as well as how seemingly small things were also important – like what chores we do or do not like to do. Ultimately, though; I think most importantly, we continued to learn how to be vulnerable with each other and how to respectfully have important, heavy conversations. Even the conversations we felt were easier were still nice. Just being together for a specific time where we could talk was wonderful. I looked forward to hearing Devon’s responses to the questions as well as her comments on my responses. This was a wholly appreciated experience and I was happy to have gone through it. - Bill
When Bill and I got engaged, I automatically knew that it was important for us to do some form of pre-marital counseling, because as someone who has lived with depression for most of my life, I knew I would need to do the emotional work to prepare myself and Bill for our marriage. I expected to tackle some difficult issues and learn more about how to resolve conflicts, but what I didn’t expect was to fall even more in love with Bill by going through this process over the past couple of months. It has been so important for us to have these conversations, especially as we’ve been struggling to plan our wedding during the pandemic, and I feel like we are about to start our marriage off in the best way because of the work we’ve put in. I will recommend this program to all of my friends, and I look forward to continuing to use the resources we’ve been given for years to come! Thank you for offering such a great program!! - Devon

Reverend Frank, I am so happy that we were able to go through your course. It has reminded us that this is a really big commitment and the love we have for each other has grown. We have been through many trials throughout our relationship and this has been a great way to reflect on those things and to realize what has gotten us through so far. I also enjoyed going over a lot of the things we had covered early in our relationship. Talking about our families and how those things have made us able to love in a relationship. I would recommend this course to all newly engaged couples as well because it has great tools to remind us how to keep an open mind heart and communicate. Thank you again for your advice and great course! - Maria and Ryan

Tiane and Joe
California / Roman Catholic Course
I thoroughly enjoyed the Catholic Marriage Prep eCourse. I feel like all couples, not just those seeking to have their wedding ceremonies done in a church, should discuss each of these topics prior to marriage. It is so important to be on the same page and air out any concerns or misunderstandings; and these prompts address so many factors in a marriage. Sharing our answers definitely confirmed mine and Joe's readiness to commit to each other. I have passed on your website to many of my friends and coworkers. Thank you for making this process so easy. - Tiane
I was actually nervous about starting the marriage prep course because it sounded like "homework" at first. But the questions were easy to answer and made the conversations flow. Before We Say ‘I Do’, doing my part, and on our wedding day were some of my favorite topics. - Joe

I am particularly thankful we completed the course because we most definitely learned things we did not know about each other. - Yodi
Thank you for making these guided conversations pleasant and open-ended. It allowed our conversations to venture out into other great stories that brought us even closer to each other. In addition, we are thankful for allowing the virtual capability, especially during these troubled times. - Roberto

Haley and Mike
Florida / Christian (Non-Denominational) Course
Dear Rev. Dr. Frank, we hadn't really ever sat down together, totally unplugged, to have conversations like we did with this counseling course. It was very refreshing to discuss things that don't normally come up in regular conversations. It was also very nice to set that time aside to have those guided conversations and work through different things as a couple. It was very helpful to hear each other's opinions and perspectives on various topics. It showed us the importance of setting time aside, just for us, to talk about things and be together, without friends, family, the TV, social media etc. It was extremely beneficial to get some of these topics and conversations out in the open to bring us together even more as we prepare for marriage. I would highly recommend to any couple who is thinking about or planning for marriage to consider going through these guided conversations. It was very eye opening and helpful to go through as a couple. We are very happy that our Pastor recommended this course to us. Thank you again! – Haley
In these days when the phone is rarely put down, or the T.V. is ever turned off our pre wedding counseling sessions were a breath of fresh air. I think we both would look forward to our sessions. The conversations we had seemed to really flow and they were conversations that we definitely needed to have. Even after all these years I feel Haley and I know a little more about each other and that is a wonderful thing. Thank you, Rev. Dr.Frank - Mike

The marriage prep course was a great way for my fiance and I to sit down and connect amidst the chaos and busyness of wedding planning. It opened my eyes to how much I love and appreciate Zach, and what I can do to be a good wife for him. It included many thought-provoking questions which we may not have discussed had it not been for this course. Thank you for preparing such a thorough course to get us ready for our future! We now feel more prepared to embark on a lifetime together, and are looking forward to more deep discussions like these. – Lucy
This course enabled me to deeply think about how much Lucy means to me. Of course, I already knew how much I loved her and had some ideas surrounding how our future would play out, but the coursework allowed me to reflect on the two of us as a couple and how we can grow together to create the perfect life together. While reviewing our answers, we were able to connect on an emotional level which opened each other up to share opinions and feelings. This course helped me focus and dial in on what Lucy means to me and the actions needed from me to be the best husband possible for her. The open dialogue while discussing our answers was very refreshing and absolutely key to maintaining a happy, healthy relationship with my future wife. I am very excited to create a future with Lucy, provide for her, and start a family together! – Zach

Andrew and Lexi

I felt these questions helped us to address some important topics. I wasn’t super excited to do counseling because I felt so stressed about grad school and didn’t think we had time. However, I’m really glad we chose to do it. I see now why counseling before marriage is important. We were able to really talk through some things that I thought we already knew about each other. I realized that no matter how compatible you are with someone, you will still have disagreements and differences. I enjoyed our quality time together during this process. - Andrew
I really enjoyed doing this counseling! I was extremely worried that we wouldn’t be able to get quality counseling during this pandemic, and counseling was super important to me. I knew the value that it would provide us before our big day. Reverend Frank’s content was so good and gave us great conversations. I feel so confident in where we are in our relationship. I was already over the moon about marrying Andrew, but now I’m even more confident that we can face any challenge ahead. I loved how this program allowed us the freedom to go at our own pace and work on it when we had the time. We are extremely busy people and this was the perfect match for us. Thanks so much for everything! - Lexi

Dear Rev. Frank, thank you for providing this course for us and other couples. We felt strong going in, but this really allowed us to give our thoughts space and to articulate really important parts of our relationship. It was great how accessible the conversations were and we were able to do them on our own schedule. I’m excited to take what we’ve learned from the course and start our wedded life together. Thank you. – Whitney
Dear Rev. Frank, I want to thank you for this wonderful and structured course. I had a high confidence in our relationship, so I didn’t think the course was necessary. Additionally, my lack of faith upbringing made me nervous for the course. After completing the talks I realized that no matter how prepared I thought I was, being able to express and hear our relationship’s details and concerns made me realize how much growing can be done. This course has also provided us with a wonderful strategy for facilitating that growth. The balance and flexibility of faith and spirit was perfect for my background. I don’t regret spending this time at all. I really look forward to employing and applying what we learned. Thank you. – Neven

I am so pleased with the experience and your working sessions for marriage preparation. We’ve been together quite a while now and time can start to go by without taking a moment to reflect. This was a great opportunity for us to look back on our time together and how that can prepare us for a future together and really allowed us to set focused time aside to solely work on strengthening our relationship. This is something I highly recommend for every couple, even if you are already married! We now even plan to keep doing sessions like these every few months. – Kayla

We were skeptical about taking a marriage course because we felt like we had very good communication and already had been together for quite a long time. However, we really enjoyed doing this course and learned new things about each other. It was a great way to prepare us for this next step in life together. Without it, we would not have taken the time to reflect on some of these big topics and ensure we are aligned on how we want to go through life together. Thank you for really helping to guide us! – Kelly
We really enjoyed the course. It made us discuss good conversations that all couples should have but do not think to make time for. These are things very important for a happy and healthy life together. We identified similarities and differences. It was a very nice experience to have together. Thank you! – Alex

Jen and Joe

I am so happy Joseph and I decided to take this course before getting married. Although we have known each other and been in a relationship for over ten years now, we had very deep and meaningful conversations about very important topics. It was so nice to share with each other our personal thoughts and emotions regarding our wedding, future marriage and shared life. We are definitely more prepared to take on life together! I feel we will be looking back at our answers to many of these topics in the future. The course itself was easy to follow and understand, and during these times, the convenience of it being online was necessary for us. I would definitely recommend this course to engaged couples, but I even feel it would be beneficial for already married couples! Thank you so much for this course! - Jen
I thought the questions in this course were a great way to communicate with my future wife about topics we wouldn’t typically talk about on a regular basis, especially for how long we have already been together. Even though we know each other very well, it was nice to learn new things about my future wife, and how we each view certain topics. I think that this course helped us grow closer together as a couple, and will help us succeed in our marriage. It was convenient that we could go at our own pace, and I loved being able to set up “dates” to tackle a few topics at a time. I feel so excited and ready to marry Jennifer, and I think being able to discuss all these important topics beforehand definitely contributes to that feeling. I would recommend this course to other couples. - Joe

Thanks to these online marriage preparation courses my fiancé and I were able to have some much needed conversations about important topics for our future. These online courses made it easy to focus on one subject at a time. Subjects like our love life, planning for children and finances. I personally found all of these courses were highly educational and it opened my eyes to new ideas on how to resolve issues when they arise. I strongly believe that if it wasn’t for these courses my fiancé and I would not have had many of these conversations. Due to these courses though, I believe that we as a couple are much more prepared for our future as husband and wife and have learned to communicate better. Both my fiancé and I would strongly recommend for any couple to take these courses. Even if the couple is not ready for marriage they would gain from these online courses. For example, I have known my fiancé for close to ten years now but through these courses I now feel like I know her and understand her at a whole new deeper level. - Luis
These marriage courses were instrumental to prepare my fiance and I to move to the next chapter in our life. It helped us to carve out time in our busy lives, spend time together to discuss many extremely important topics that we truly needed to talk about to ensure that we were either both on the same page or somehow willing to compromise on our differences. It also helped me to be honest with myself and express what I needed from my soon to be husband and be vulnerable in front of him with some sensitive subjects. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed this class and it brought us closer together and ready to enter marriage on the same page with love, understanding and faith. - Susan

I really enjoyed the conversations and the course altogether. It was easy in the sense that it was user-friendly but it did challenge me and my thoughts. I really liked the type of questions we were asked. Having to provide additional information for an answer like a reason was a lot of fun. I remember Isaias saying, “who cares if it takes us 6 hours, 9 hours, 14 hours, as long as we’re having a good time!” I was so impressed with his willingness to do the course that right from the beginning it reminded me why I want us to be partners for life. Overall, it was very educational, and definitely a great learning tool. I am looking forward to having more conversations of this type with my future husband!! – Mirna
At first, to be completely honest, I didn’t understand how this would be beneficial and how it would make our marriage successful. But because I want to take all the right chances and because I saw how excited Mirna was about this I didn’t complain and answered the questions as truthfully as possible. I found the course to be insightful and easy to follow. Mirna and I have decided to still complete the rest of the course during our 14-day mandatory quarantine in Canada, we will have plenty of time to finish and revisit conversations! – Isaias

I’m really thankful for this course. Before we start the conversations, we thought marriage preparation course just a course that we need to sit and read the materials and memorize main points we need to know when we’re getting married. But we’re totally wrong. Those conversations change our thought about marriage. Marriage is more than just marry our love one, but there are a lot of responsible, and issues we need to face together. As we go through the topics, we realize that because we are being together for a long period, we tend to get use to each other’s presence, we forgot to remind our past moments together, and do something romantic to refresh our feelings and mind. Although, we communicate everyday, but we feel like there is a small step to the closest way that we wanted. But then after this course, our communication is improving in more positive ways. We able to share our thoughts, and plan that have tell the other yet, and giving each other promises. Thank you so much for helping us to prepare for our marriage and provide us the opportunity to learn more about each other. We’re highly satisfied about this course. - Tram and Tuan

Dear Rev. Dr. Frank Nelson, I am writing on behalf of us, who have recently taken your marriage preparation course. Your course is a combination of a lot of valuable lessons from our physical/sexual bond, the skills to handle conflicts in the family, most of all, your lessons teach us to always sit together and talk about our thoughts. Those conversations really help us understand each other more, hence, strengthen our love and relationship not only for each other but also for God. Maria and Alex
Texas / Roman Catholic Course
I enjoyed the course. It gave me a sense of what we needed to work on before we take the dive and become married. It allowed us to talk and think about things that needed to be worked on before we commit ourselves to each other. -Maria
We completed the marriage e-course. I feel it was very helpful, I enjoy how deep the questions were and how thought provoking the whole process is. It gave me a greater sense of how important a marriage truly is for both persons involved. – Alex

Kaytlyn and Jacobus
North Dakota / Christian (Non-Denominational) Course
Thank you for providing this course. It was a great experience for us and we enjoyed the opportunity to discuss things and express feelings that we hadn't known were important. This experience was extremely helpful. My fiancé and I found the online preparation course to be the perfect fit for our schedules. The guided course was easy to follow and understand. The topics that were presented sparked great conversation between us and allowed us the opportunity to discuss things we hadn’t even thought of yet. Rev. Frank was very prompt in responding to any questions we had. We would highly recommend this course for couples. – Kaytlyn and Jacobus

Sandra and Jesus
Texas / Basic (Non-Religious) Course
This course has been very beneficial to me because it brought up subjects that I knew needed to be discussed. The questions provoked a great conversation for me to have with Jesus. There were lots of tears from me but in a good way. I hope that we will continue to have these kinds of talks in the future. – Sandra
Let me first thank you because I feel this has helped significantly. I learned new things about [Sandra] that I now know will further help grow our relationship. We talk often and well enough that I’m happy to say we have a very solid foundation. I feel this course is one more tool to add to our strong and still growing relationship. I worry you’ll think our responses are generic and not thought out. I would hope you understand the depth in which these responses were made. I can honestly say each answer was made with careful thought and consideration. – Jesus
Michaela and Trevor
Texas / Christian (Non-Denominational) Course
I thought this course was very helpful. I loved that the questions seemed simple but really, they sparked a deep conversation between me and my partner. We got a deeper understanding of what we want in life, how we'd like to raise our children, and much much more. Not only do I feel better about marrying Trevor, but also more excited because this course was an affirmation that we are on the same page. There are definitely still elements of our relationship that we need to work through but we have a detailed plan on how we will go about doing that. Our primary issue is communication and this course work has helped us start talking on an intimate level and think about ways we can improve ourselves in this area. - Michaela
I think the wedding counseling has been very helpful at bringing up some discussions that definitely needed to be talked about. It has helped me feel closer to Michaela by further explaining to me what the things she needs in a relationship are, and it helps to have them written down. I think it was a very good way to get us talking about difficult things that we may have not talked about had we not done this when we did. - Trevor

It’s wonderful to know that when we send couples to Dr. Nelson, they are going through a quality program and will be more enriched as a couple and better prepared for marriage.

My husband and I went through Dr. Nelson’s course and we loved it! Now I use it with every couple I marry. It’s a better tool than anything else I’ve used.

These tools bring a depth and balance to our marriage prep ministry.

As a pastor I have limited time. The fact that Dr. Nelson is able to assist with this ministry is a great asset to me.
20
We have seen transformation in our couples.

I’m not the most forthright and outspoken person, so having an established, guided process was very valuable.

I believe everybody should do pre-marital counseling, and this digital version makes it so much easier to commit to.
9
I think the digital component of TalkPoints is a great idea. People may feel like they’re too busy to do pre-marital counseling, but this is perfect for couples who think they don’t have time or maybe are uncomfortable having a third party present.
8
I admit I was apprehensive at first. I knew it was important to do, but didn’t know what to expect. It definitely helped us re-affirm our love and express it openly.
7
The digital option was wonderful. It’s nice to have an “on the go” option so accessible that we could do it anywhere and anytime.

I have loved this course and found myself looking forward to each of our sessions at home. It was special because we so rarely take time to focus on our relationship.
