Silvanna and Kenneth have been together for over a decade and therefore they thought they knew everything about each other and how to navigate a successful relationship. They were pleasantly surprised by the knowledge and insight provided by the Basic (Non-Religious) Course at Online Marriage Preparation. As a result of taking it, they say they feel better equipped to make their marriage a success.
Silvanna shared:
I enjoyed how this course was broken up into different sections, each focusing on a different aspect of marriage. We discussed communication, expectations and roles, finances, problem solving, parenting, and relationships with family and friends. All of these topics were discussed in an open and honest way. The course had assignments that helped us learn more about each other and how to work through our differences. It was incredibly fun reminiscing back 10 years to when we first met.
At the end of the course, I felt much more prepared for this next step in our relationship. We had a better understanding of what to expect and how to handle marriage challenges. We also felt more connected to each other and had a clearer understanding of how to make our marriage a success. Overall, the pre-marital course was an invaluable experience. It helped me to gain a better understanding of myself and my partner and gave me the tools to navigate any issues that may arise in the future. I am grateful for the knowledge and experience I have gained, and I recommend the course to any couple who is preparing to get married. I was interested to see what I could learn from the course and how it would help me.
Kenneth added:
Being together for a little over a decade, I thought we had everything down. Nothing new to learn. Ultimately, I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of knowledge and insight the course had to offer. We discussed topics like communication, compromise, finances, family dynamics, and roles and expectations within the marriage. We learned the importance of trust, honesty, and respect, and how these values can help to build a strong and lasting marriage. The course also gave us practical tips and advice on topics such as budgeting, parenting, and handling disagreements. We were encouraged to have an open dialogue with each other and to practice active listening. The assignments were a great help. Overall, the pre-marital course was an insightful and invaluable experience. It gave me greater insight into the dynamics of marriage and helped me gain a better understanding of how to make it successful. It also gave me the chance to consider my own expectations and those of my partner, and to think about how we could work together to make our marriage a successful one.
