Are You Apprehensive About Pre-Marital Counseling?

Over half of the engaged couples who take my marriage preparation course at have a lot of apprehension. Maybe that is due,  in part, to the fact that many think of it as “pre-marital counseling” instead of education and coaching.

Adam described his experience of not being so sure: Dear Rev. Frank, the wedding counseling experience has been very enjoyable. We were a little apprehensive at first, however, I think that the counseling exceeded our expectations. It allowed us to talk through areas that we had discussed previously, but we gained new perspectives. Thanks.

And Jenni wrote:  This experience has been great and very well thought out. I am so glad that we came to this program and were able to sit down with you and prepare for our life together. It has helped me to be a better person for myself and for Adam. It has helped our lines of communication with each other which I know will carry over into our marriage. Now I feel much more prepared and closer to Adam than before! Thank you!

After having worked with over 200 couples in the past 4 years, I don’t ever hesitate to tell them that they will enjoy the process of going through one of my courses and also find it to be a very valuable experience. That’s because, all of those 200 plus couples have told me that they enjoyed it and found it to be a very valuable experience. You will too!
