Abby and Davis from Minnesota recently completed the Basic Marriage Prep course from Online Marriage Preparation.
Every couple approaches marriage preparation differently. For Abby and Davis, traditional pre-marriage counseling didn’t feel like the best option. Abby shared,
“It has always been important for me to complete pre-marriage counseling. However, my fiancé is not comfortable with talking about emotions with many people, so he was a little hesitant on completing counseling. Because of this, we found your course to be a perfect fit for us.”
What they discovered was a flexible, self-paced program they could complete together in their own time. Abby noted how the questions encouraged deep reflection and important conversations:
“I feel like the way the questions were worded really made both Davis and I really think about many things that we have not thought about before.”
For Davis, who admitted that communication doesn’t always come naturally, the course provided a meaningful way to grow:
“I’m not good with always communicating anything from feelings to talking. But I feel like this has helped me get better about it with my spouse.”
Stories like Abby and Davis’s remind us that preparing for marriage isn’t one-size-fits-all. The right course should fit your relationship, help you communicate more openly, and give you confidence as you step into your future together.
